If those are the leaves, the Iris shaped ones below it, then it is Sisyrinchium striatum. It can be a real seed weed where suited.

owdboggy, thanks, you're right, that's what it is. I'd say that growing in shade as this one is, helps to keep it in check and stop it spreading everywhere. I do like the nectarpscordium.

Rosefriend, Geranium, Thanks very much for the noms and liking my simple little pic. This is one Jenny bought me when we were in England with Ruth. I've tried this year to grow them from seed with no success. It's a shame they die after they've flowered. Has anyone ever had them come back again? for your lovely daisy Geranium.

Thanks, Ladygardener, and I think the Evening Primrose you have is a biennial...there are perennials, but they're pink.

Thanks, Ladygardener, and I think the Evening Primrose you have is a biennial...there are perennials, but they're pink. Yes that's what I thought Geranium. I won't be saving seeds as I'm really cutting back next year on what I grow from seed and I don't want a load of half dead plants around for weeks on end waiting until seeds set in my very small garden.
