I didn't even hang out the washing today as it wouldn't have dried. It was damp and there was no breeze. Even had a light shower of rain this morning. Sun broke through about 3.30, but too late then.

Sorry about that Missy - it's been lovely here today and I have cut back half of the garden for the winter and I ache all over. I still enjoyed myself and have even found some room for a few more plants and bulbs - what could be better.
Oh tomorrow is dry as well......sorry...

Done nothing in the garden for weeks now, except for stripping the front border (and I dont think that this counts as garden as the rest is block paved drive, ( :necessary as we have a 24ft caravan, car and husbands work van ) and the road is so narrow no one can keep a car on the road. Back garden has been sadly neglected except for the pond and waterfall, which I have cleaned out and covered ready for the autumn leaf fall. I have had a few family and health problems so if anyone fancies a day out, I could do with some garden help, lunch and alcoholic beverage supplied ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D CJ

Planted up a few pots for winter. It meant taking out some summer bedding that was still flowering, but I will be out of action for a while after next Tuesday, so if I don't do it now, it will not get done before winter comes.

have tipped out everything from the dreaded black darlek compost bin, gave it a good airing and it's looking like I'll have some good compost in springtime.

i have just spend a lovely couple of hours in the garden dripping with sweat .heart pumping!!! i dug up and moved a few shrubs. poor things have been crammed in together and now they have room to breath. i just hope i havent killed any. it was back breaking and i may suffer tomorrow but i really enjoyed it. i have been meaning to do it since last autumn and for one reason and another have put it off and now the job is done i feel very satisfied. i have a lot of clearing up to do which is for tomorrow.i have other things to plant and more bulbs to put in. all in all its feeling very good in my garden. xxxxxx can you tell i had fun. ;D xxxx

I cleaned out my cold frame and put the lids back on. Moved a few young plants from the G/H to the frame. They can't stay in the G/H over winter 'cos there's not enough room.
Tackled a few cannas in pots which haven't done very well this year. Got them out, split them, threw away the older tubers and re-potted the others. I know I should do this in spring but at least I've got a few done. The rest I will do in Spring. The ones I've done are safely installed in the G/H for the winter.
