Still not many decorated houses / windows, around here Hoping OH will put the tree together tomorrow, but he's started building work in the study ( he's plastering ready for the new bookshelves he's making ) so I'll have to grab him between jobs ;D

I think that's all the Xmas pressies bought now... Well, apart from Dad's cheeses which we'll buy later in the week when we go do the weekly shop.

With Jenny being here these past few days, I've been able to get most of the pressies bought. She's got most of hers now too.

Do you freeze your mince pies Auricula? Jenny goes to womens group and they made home made mince pie filling. She's brought me up a beautiful jar of it, (early Christmas pressie) all decorated with ribbons etc i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif . I can't wait to taste it I'm sure it will be delicious and I'll be using it to make my mince pies this year instead of buying them from M&S. I wonder when I should make them? How long will they keep if I make them say next sunday?

Well the decs are up & we are now officially festive Daisy was in the box of tinsel having a tear up before we even got it put up naughty girl you wouldn't believe she's nearly 12. Couldn't get a pic though as every time we got the camera out, she stopped & sat there looking innocent. We've got soft tinsel baubles that we use on the bottom of the tree, to try to save breakages, there were 3 on the floor by my side of the bed when I got up this morning. I made my own mince meat one year LG, it tastes wonderful, be careful though, as if there isn't an awful lot of booze in it, it doesn't last as long as shop bought. Sounds like someone is having fun already Jilly. I love your new Avatar. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif Thanks for the advice r.e. the mince pies Auricula and Jilly, I'll have to check with Jenny if she put alcohol into the mix or not. She's driving home now after spending a few days here with me. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

I use the dining room table but find my stuff all shoved up in one corner when the boys do their homework. Can't complain I guess - homework should come first!

I've made 2 lots of mince pies, it really hurts when hot mince sticks to your finger, I think we'll put the tree and stuff up tomorrow night.

I'm really surprised so many have'nt their tree up yet. I guess it's one of those things here in N.I. that the trees go up quite early really.

We usually have ours up between 15th and 31st December. Hadn't got many cards until today, I think Royal Mail have been cutting back on staff. Our post hasn't been coming until 4.30pm and the Postie ( they're all still wearing shorts here ) said they are having to do double rounds....and ours is second Feeling quite festive.... but obviously not festive enough to have made my cake or mince pies yet Mind you... there's still a week to go yet
