I ordered some seeds and a rhubarb plant from T&M with my £15 worth of vouchers I ended up with after complaining about my plug plant substitutions (£10 for not including the substitute voucher with the plug plants and then a few days later the £5 voucher turned up with a letter saying sorry we didn't send your voucher when we should). Oh, cut out the middle man and just pay me to take your plants! The seeds have arrived and I have 2 packets with pictures like you'd get at the GC and 2 with a cottage garden pic on the front (nothing to do with the seeds inside) and the plain packet details on the other side. The rhubarb - they're probably deciding what to send me as I type!

T&M do that with their seeds Jasmine, I find it really annoying having to look up online what the seeds I've ordered are. Jenny and I were going through seeds yesterday and that's what we had to do. Hope you get your Rhubarb and it's the one you've ordered.

Just recently I got all my seed packets out that didn't have a pic and downloaded thumbnails for all of them - then printed them out and glued them to the front of the packets...
Bit of a mess but I did see things that I remembered thinking would look good in the garden and the date was OK too...
Bit like clearing out the cupboards really!!

Thank you Ladygardener! I ordered Fulton's Strawberry Surprise - it was voted best tasting rhubarb in 2003 and has really red stalks. Actually, looking more closely at their catalogue the other rhubarb they're offering is seeds so maybe they won't get muddled!

That is very weird Rosefriend. I missed what they were charging - it just seems to be one very strange experiment. I wonder what sort the potatoes are? I suppose if you were short of space it might be useful but then you could put some spuds in a pot and plant toms on top!

I get the feeling that it is a bit like the upside down tom plant which always will try and grow upwards and not hang.. However 14.99 Pounds for one plant and a bit of food or 29.98Pounds for two plants is way over and not worth it... I would want my toms and spuds covered in gold for that money !! RF

How absolutely bizzare Rosefriend. They would be very expensive Tomatoes and Potatoes would'nt they. Untried variety of Tomatoes and no name given to the Potatoes and if one gets blight then you've lost them both. I don't even fancy the look of it to be honest regardless of the price. Needless to say I did'nt get the email as T&M are not friendly to folk in NI in my opinion.

What tends to annoy me @ladynovicegardenr is that firms like T & M fool people into buying these stupid things - thanks heavens even the most "novice" gardener can ask on GWD and I bet only a fool and his money would be parted...I wouldn't touch it... As you say, - what are the toms, what variety are the spuds and if only one got blight then they would be both finished... The way they doctor pics to make the colours stand out more annoys me as well!! Oh I get all the mails LG - just only get seeds delivered !! RF

Had to send an email last night asking where my 'geum' collection is that was ordered back in May. According to the invoice it should have arrived by the end of September, and I've given them the 14 days leeway ... wonder what excuse they'll come up with?

Let us know Tig. I am having trouble with Mr Fothergill's...seems they're quite similar to T&M in that they send an automated response to your email query saying someone will get back to you....and then they don't I'm collecting these responses - I've got 2 so far!

Unbelievably I have just had a letter in the post from them! Advising me that the plugs are not of suitable quality to send out at the moment, and will be sent in NOVEMBER!!! If they are not ready now how the heck will they improve by then? It will be too cold to plant them out and the chances are they'll die before they get decent roots on them! Grrrrrrrrrrrr ... they've had since May to grow them on, I could have done better myself - that's me finished with them now. What a shambles!

You'll be able to get them through winter Tig! Otherwise I got some great geum plants from Suttons and Stephen Roff (Ebay) had some a while ago - don't know if he still does. If you buy in multiples from him he lowers his postage and the rates are very reasonable. But, I still say you'll get the little plugs through winter!
