There are some spiders and moth caterpillars which have nests/egg casings which look like those LG. I can't seem to find any specific named types though.

Thanks maggy, nature is amazing is'nt it. I think I'll try to leave it alone and see what happens. Hopefully I won't get loads of man eating spiders running round the garden after me.

Or any kind if your like me !! but we tend to get big fat one especially in the front garden they make a web on the conifers. I seemed to think those cocoons looked like moth caterpillars could be wrong though! let us know wont you.

I think it's a moth too LG, I looked on that site and found the one I'm always finding buried in my garden, it's the dark shiny brown one with like screw threads at the top so now I know it's a moth, thank's Maggy.
