Well, putting her in the kitchen and them in the rest of the downstairs seemed to work. Though, it is possible that one of them sprayed in the living room, smelt a bit of cat in there this morning. Jemma was very pleased to see us this morning after spending the night all on her own, but at least she used the litter tray. She is asleep now on the chair behind me. Bill is asleep on the chair on the other side of the table from her. I just wish she would not bite his legs when he comes in to feed.
it does sounds as though a routine is starting and that she is thoroughly attached to you OB - now then - you are going to keep her aren't you....she does look similar to Bill and Ben when they were small - I saw a pic not long a go when I was searching for something else - not possible that one of them is "Dad" is there - or have they been "done"??

Bill and Ben are both neutered. But there are various tabby cats along the lane at the farms. BUT, we still think she is an abandonment, far too hand friendly for a feral cat. No decision yet as to permanency of residence.
Now that is a lovely sight - well, if Bill didn't clock Jemma one after you had taken the pic anyway!!!! I do wonder if this wanting more etc etc isn't a reaction to being thrown out from somewhere...??

Not sure we are going to be able to keep her. Bill is so unhappy. He had a major accident last night, all over the throw over on the settee. First time he has erred for a long time. We think it is because she jumps on him and it is making him very nervous. Anyone any suggestions?

No, I haven't owdboggy, normally in a situation like this where a new animal comes to two established animals is that the newbie gets a thrashing and is put in it's place by the older ones and peace reigns...the newbie seems to be trying to assert her powers though...pity Bill or Ben don't clobber her one, which is what is needed..
I hope someone else has an idea - I have had dogs and cats and unless Bill and Ben decide what thy are going to do then there will be no peace. Either they clobber Jemma or, and this has happened before, they let Jemma become boss !!
Shame OB - maybe more time is needed - how strong are your nerves!!

Ben did beat her up and she leaves him well alone, but Bill is such a wimp. He runs away from Ben and our neighbours cats too. It is not my nerves, it is the washing of covers and carpets which is causing the domestic strife.

I do understand OB - just wish I had something to suggest - apart from you clocking Jemmy as well, if you catch her in the act, mind you it's Bill that needs to do it of course...
All I can think of is time...well, and possibly praying to every God you can think of!!

owdboggy, it's a shame that she's causing so much strife with Bill but I'm thinking it's a matter of leaving them to sort it out between themselves and trying not to worry too much about it all. When we got Finn McCool, Chess was very upset for about 2 weeks and we were just on the point of giving her back when Chess seemed to come round. Hopefully time is what's needed here and not too much more of it.

Jemma asleep on Bill. What you may not know is that the lump under the cover is actually Bill. He loves to sleep between the throw over and the chair itself. He knows she is there and has made no attempt, so far to dispossess her. There may be hope!
Well that looks hopeful owdboggy, perhaps it is just time that it needed !!

She's gorgeous owdboggy, - poor thing - it must have been an awful shock to have been thrown out - maybe it was just meant to be that you found her..

Aw she's such a little darling is'nt she owdboggy. I firmly believe that things often happen as they are ment to and she is so so lucky to have found you.

There is another Horizon Experiment Programme about Cats starting tonight on BBC2. It looks amazing, I really enjoyed the programme last year and think any of us cat lovers would enjoy it. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p027xxh5

Is Jemma settling in better owdboggy, - or to rephrase that - are Bill and Ben coping better with her??

She looks as though she is enjoying herself there owdboggy, - if Bill and Ben treat her with disdain and ignore her, but otherwise carry on as normal, then I suppose peace will reign as well...
Lovely little video OB, thanks..

That's a lovely video owdboggy, thanks for posting it. I think treating her with disdain is quite a good sign actually. I don't think there's anything better than seeing an animal you're rescued getting the confidence to play & be a bit naughty, although I do hope the litter tray issues are resolving themselves for your sake, think that might be taking naughtiness just a step too far.
That worked for me owdboggy, thanks. It was lovely to see her in action, she's so playful is'nt she. Good idea to use the peg like that, I must see if I can organise something similar for Suki, I think he'd like it, for 10mins at least. smilx
