Mine usually stay up until 6th Jan but the tree was looking very sorry for itself so it just had to go....

Very striking Jenny. We saw a black tree with silver decorations yesterday in TJ Hughes in Eastbourne. I like the turquoise on yours.

Doesn't the room seem bigger? Doesn't the room seem dusty?

I despair with dust - you dust - it wafts about and then it settles on other stuff

I have felt that this year everyone has got fed up with Christmas earlier than usual Cant wait to take down the decs and the cards and the lights etc This is sad but can be put down to the shops selling cards as early as first week September My Garden Centre started to decorate one of its halls in October and had all the trees and decs out that month Christmas is pushed down our throats for so many months beforehand Think this should be on the Whinge Thread as well

I agree Jenny. I couldn't summon up a great deal of enthusiasm for Xmas this /last year. I think it maybe a double backlash against a) religion in general. b) commercialism in general. Take both those out of the equation and what is there left?

Maybe people are moving towards my point of view. I've hated Christmas for years. It just means work for me (and no time for art!) Maybe it's because I'm not a Christian and I had such wonderful Christian Christmases as a child......
