Feeling absolutely devastated this evening, came home from work to find Moo (junior cat) had died in her sleep during the day, absolutely nothing wrong with her this morning. Her Mum Daisy has been poorly for some time so it wouldn't have been so shocked if it had been her. Just thought I'd put this here so you'll understand if I'm not around for a bit.

She was a little beauty Jilly, - so sorry - I am happy that it was gentle and kind, a shock though... Somehow we are always a ittle selfish in that we do not want to lose anyone/anything as it hurts but we forget that perhaps it is the kindest thing - I firmly believe that animals know so much more than we do...I still miss my cat and dogs...

Thanks Rosefriend, we're both in shock atm, she was giving me the usual grief for breakfast this morning & then she'd been in all day (we'd shut the cat flap to stop Daisy getting out). OH found her & thought she was just asleep, as she was in her normal sleeping position, then found that she'd just died. Took her to the vet ( nowhere to bury her in the garden) & they said that there was no sign of trauma & probably her heart just failed in her sleep. My logical brain says what a lovely way to go.

for you both Jilly It was a 'kind' way to go, perhaps she just went to sleep & didn't wake up again, no pain or fear, bless her. That is how I'd like to go. xxx

from me too. It's always a terrible wrench when a pet dies as they are truly a member of the family. However, it sounds as though there was no trauma or suffering and that her end came peacefully, and there can be no better way to go xx

Jilly, I've only now seen your thread. Moo was so lucky to have you both looking after her and pampering her through her life. I know you will miss her. Big hugs.
