Well it is working against the woelmuis and the rats, up to now, - who knows what else...I am happy if it keeps those away or well reduced...

8th Day and no sign in our garden at all...however next door have still got a problem but outside of our garden, tunnels and holes/hills have appeared...I'll get some more poison from the neighbour and try and get them in the new holes...wonder where it is going..
EDIT: Neighbour still has problems but but it looks as though they are making a wide berth of our garden, something at least. I have put poison down the holes outside the garden...see what happens...

Hm but isn't the little machine supposed to make them stay away for at least 50 square meter or more? Maybe the old residents of the neighbour are moving out. She just never noticed them before.....
Looks like I should go and get me one for the lottie then.

Looks like I should go and get me one for the lottie then. 9th Day for us without any 'oles or tunnels and I put some poison down the holes yesterday that appeared outside the garden - this morning the 'oles are still closed so I hope I got the little buggas there... Neighbour still has problems but I do feel that it is lessening. OH is going to put two iron poles in our and neighbours gardens and keep bashing them with a hammer...won't that be fun then!! However, method in the madness is that they cannot stand noise... and go away - another annoyance for them.. Yep, Dutchy the solar thingies are supposed to do hundreds of square metres - I am just happy if they cover our garden...obviously something is working though and it did say that patience is needed ....thing we have figured that out ourselves now !!

10th day of no new holes and the holes outside are still closed...I dare not become too euphoric but.....

And over the weekend? ? 14th day of peace...outside the holes are still closed - all is well in Chez Rosefriend!! They have left our garden and are now on the edge of the next doors garden...so they have got the urge to bugga awf, that's for sure.... EDIT: Neighbour next door but one has just been - they have arrived at her place...very long tunnels already - well, that took the smile off her face anyway !!!

Hmmmm do you think they followed you there as you was watering her GH?
Smug no more eh? Ah well I wouldn't wish rats on any one.
Which reminds me that those yellow flowering thingummies you gave me have now all become banthavoodoo aka ground cricket food or perhaps it is a real woelmuis doing the damage. I am getting ( stiff upper lip minor expression ) slightly fed up with them.
On the up the lovely Dahlia are doing their best. I kept the red orange one and Star Wars and both are fab. I gave the two yellows to Theo down the allotments and he is real pleased.

Pleased about the Dahlias though - we have decided on another 6 that are to get the chop!! It is now 23 days that we have had no more Voles/Rats - they are on the outside of the garden and next door now and again - next door but one had a brief scurry, but it seems that now we all have these solar anti mice/rats thingies that we are beating them into submission - ergo...anyone that has problems with mice might be helped by getting one of these things..patience is definitely a virtue but it looks as though we are on the winning side, for now. Now to find out if we keep them in during the winter months - next door but one says no, but others say yes...mmmh !!

Yellow thingummies turning out to be blue thingummies? I have one left it seems but it still looks sorry for life. I'll let you know what it flowers like. Providing the slime-ies don't go for it again. ( got it surrounded by a heap of dead horsetail plants which should deter them. )
I suppose one should keep the solar Anti in as Winter is when all rodents go hungry and scrounge for food. Then again they won't work when covered in snow.....

Nope, the Yellow thingummies are not turning out to be blue thingummies - whereas yours are covered with dead horsetail, mine are covered with little blue pellets!! It says on the destructions for our sonar thingies - not to force them into the ground when there is frost. Well, we are not going to , they will already in the ground...I suppose if we leave them in we will have to clear the tops when we have snow..

Ah right.... you've got blue thingummies and I have a green one. Now all they need to do is survive......
Snow removal is do-able so I would leave them in. Does the manual say what animals it works on? I went to the GC just to see what they have and it was only for maulwurf, aka mole and I want it for brfdfdfdy welllllll you can guess.

Ok it says on our Solar thingy - Maulwurfschreck Modell 2015.
Then in smaller letters - Maulwurfschreck, Marder, Spitzmaus, Wuehlmaus, Maus, Ratten.. (interesting about the Marder!!)
So I am assuming that it is against everything like that - asked neighbour that has just walked in and she says hers says the same...one interesting fact is that the cat 2 doors away jumped over the fence and bolted as though she was struck by lightening - wonder if she doesn't like it either!!

I thought it was to good to be true ....
Well yes and no...we have had peace although the little buggas were around and about, out of the garden borders... Then on Saturday across the road a massive tractor appeared and did whatever it had intended to do and guess what - on Sunday and Monday we had had visitors again...and a right damn mess they have made as well...
It was certainly more than one vole with the amount of runs and holes so we got some more poison and went around putting stuff wherever we could - as there is a lot more work to be done across the road I suspect they will be around for a while ...
What is a little annoying is that they have appeared in the gravel next at the front...so, I wonder if they will suddenly be in our garden soon...

I went through the garden today and all the holes that I put poison in are still closed but a shock awaited me when I looked over the fence at the back - a huge molehill!! That is all we need as moles are on the red list here and not allowed to be killed...mmmmmh !!

I don't know Ladygardener, except that it has to do with noise, movement etc... I have just taken these pics from the back and they are molehills...we dare not touch them - well, as long as someone might see us... This is outside the neighbours land...just.. ...this is in his garden - as he is away he will not be amused when he comes back... There has once again been a massive tractor across the road so I think we are in for another shock tomorrow morning...

Well, Rosefriend, it sounds as though you are running a zoo over there!
Do you remember that when we had moles, OH ran the mower with the roller on the back over the runs, and they scarpered? No illegality - just rolling my lawn Mr Policeman. It might work for you - I hope so.

It might work for you - I hope so. I have to say that I am getting a little fed up - next door is away working as usual so nothing will be done there - the voles are in our garden and the garden on the other side and up to now I can't see where the rat has gone - we are all hoping that he is off on his travels... The voles are getting through the gravel now as well so no lawnmower... I do feel that the world will not suffer for one mole/vole less...noise they hate so that is the answer I feel and the poison pellets that we have...the sonar/solar thingies are obviously helping as well - not me at 3am this morning though - I heard every peep, every 18secs until 4am!!

Of course you're fed up, Rosefriend. I wish I could suggest a quieter solution. We have a tubular rat trap - you put the poisoned grain in it and it's safe for Henry. It certainly worked last time we had rats on our bird table.

Thanks both - I have been out and there is nothing more in our garden but next door the mole and I suspect the voles are having a lovely time - long may it be so.... Only thing is that he is back next week - and will mow the grass - what happens - will they come back to us or go further - my guess is that they will use the tunnels that they already have - a sort of quick escape - that brings them back to us..all a mess really !!

We now have moles in the garden - next door is terrible but I couldn't care a monkeys as he never does anything anyway - however they are in my flower beds - voles and moles...I have put the poison for the voles in..moles are a protected species so I can't do anything there...
I will be glad when this year is over tbh!!
