I messaged with her last week and felt that it wouldn't be long but I had hoped she would make it a bit longer. She was so terribly brave and fought so hard....this damn Cancer...she kept her humour until right to the end... I am gutted, absolutely gutted. If my Cancer comes back then I hope I can be as brave as she was. It was Nick that answered my message to her this morning - I am at least so happy that they were together until the end. RIP lovely Lady...

Knowing full well that time was a thing for others Jill still managed to smile and laugh about life. As ever a never ending source of smiles she beheld us and laughed and enjoyed and played along. A gardener to the very end if not in moves then certainly in thought. Jill has found rest and hopefully a busy afterlife in that big garden. And at times when we stretch our backs after some serious gardening we will look up and smile. Because that source of smiles will always be with us.
I wish Nick strength and loads of loving and caring people around him.
Goodbye Jill.

So sad she could not win this battle, glad her suffering is over and hope Nick will cope without her. I will always remember her as she looked in the photos she shared with us in her Mums garden, leather jacket, tight jeans and kinky boots, she was so pleased that she'd lost weight and at that time not a clue that there was another reason her weight had dropped. Rest in peace Jill, you will never be forgotten by your friends on here.

I'm so sad to know that our lovely Jill won't be able to join us any longer. Her strength, sense of humour and wit brightened up many a dark day. It's good to know that Nick was with her at the end. God bless Jill, sleep well, I miss you already. x

I'm so sad to hear that Jill has passed away. I am an infrequent poster to this mb I know, but I do realise that cancer has blighted more than one life on here (my family included). The medical profession is increasingly able to treat this monstrous disease...even effectively cure it. Too often not tho. I didn't know Jill as well as most of you, but she always came across as a lovely kind, warm lady. Condolences to her family and friends xxx

I am so sorry to hear of this awful news. I had the pleasure of meeting Jilly on several occasions and showing her around the Rockery in Brighton. She was a warm, lovely and funny lady and I am very proud to have known her. I'm not sure if Nick reads these messages but if he ever wants to plant something in the Rockery, i'd be happy to discuss.
Rest in Peace Jilly

I shall be reflective at noon today, thinking of Jill and those who loved her, knew her or were lucky enough to have laughed with her. Hope there is a garden in the ever after, I will always treasure the plants she shared with me and they will be a constant reminder of her joy of gardening. xx

I count myself lucky to be one of the people who laughed with her. Thought about her today, her sense of humour and her love of life. My garden too is dotted with things she sent me and I will enjoy them every year in her memory.

Thank you Rosefriend, for directing me to this tribute thread for Jill. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting this brave, brave lady; but feel that I got to know her a bit through the forum. I'm sure Nick will take comfort through the comments already made. He will be hurting just now but his memories will stand him in good stead in the future.
