Poor little girls had quite a traumatic journey an hour and a half, rush hour traffic etc. They were very quiet in the car, the Oriental was laying down, while the Rex was just nosing at everything. Got the home, the rex was out of the cage instantly exploring, tail in the air and chiruping away, the Oriental hid. She's very nervous at the moment. They are both off exploring the house, as soon as I move the rex is instantly there, chiruping and chattering away, buzzing against my legs and begging for a fuss - she's soooooooooo cute. The Oriental is a little more reserved, not slinking anymore, and the tail is in the air a lot of the time, she hasn't come for a fuss yet but it's only a matter of time, she's getting more settled minute by minute

Oh I forgot to say OH and the Rex are besotted with each other, she purrs like a mad thing - all he has to do is look at her.

Oh what wonderful news, I can picture your delight. I am sure they will both be chirrping away in no time and daring each other to do mischief. Well done for taking the plunge.
By the way I have been watching for your report on the other thread.

I really need to say a big thank you to everyone too, for all your kind thoughts and support. It really meant so much although sometimes I was struggling to read it through tears.
The more these two settle, the more I am convinced I've done the right thing. The rex (Minx ) is so happy, just purrs all the time, and the Oriental (Kali) is dashing round looking like a dodgem car (tail straight up in the air), they both so needed a home.

Really pleased for you Dee, glad we could help. Great names as well. I don't suppose I need to tell you to keep them in for a few days, or they may go wondering, do I?. I remember moving once and the previous owner (name X) was still there. Couldn't find his cat! Did you not keep it in for a few days before the move, came my response. No should I have done, came the reply. I told him I would look out for it. X came back for two more days and on the second day, I told him a blackbird was making noise in the garden, so X came round and there was his cat. I also taught him how to make out a blackbird's warning cry. I thought we all knew this! X thanked me and went on his way. A week later, I heard X had lost it again as he didn't keep it in, in the new place. He had left a window wide open! I am sure you are not like X, Dee, but just thought I would mention it. Brings back memories!! Have fun! Sure you will.

Hi Dee,
Your pics gave me the first smile of the day. How contented they are...you must have felt so left out but I'm sure you will have caught up by now.
Lovely to see them like that.
