Looks fabulous, ;D Wish I still had mine what is the plant with the pinkish leaves on the left hand side? It reminds me of a houseplant I have. (CRAFT day, cant remember its name!)

It's a tropical water lilly....in this case an African tiger lotus lilly. By pinching out any leave that go to the surface, it encourages the plant to put out submerged leaves which look wicked !!!

Looks pretty good to me... will you ever see a flower though?
I like the water lily I have in my pond when its only leaves, but its spectacular when it flowers! ;D

Like the underwater leaves of a Nuphar luteum. They are better than the leaves above the water. I suppose you are not going to let it flower?

Couple of reasons really....firstly i need the cash to finnish the garden, secondly we're being given a superb blue leather sofa from my aunty *she only buys the best too !!!) and i wont have room for the tank in the lounge (i did plan to put it in the conservatory) and i also need to get my ever increasing electric bill down a bit from the £3-400 a quater we've been paying last year !!!

All very valid reasons Andy, but such a shame after all the work you've done.

Well...the tank is now sold and will be dismantled tomorrow (wednesday) and picked up by the new owner. BUT....from out of the ashes, the phoenix is released ......my daughters loves the fish so i agreed to set a little tank up for her....30" long x 15" high x 12" wide which i have in the shed. I have all the equipment so all i've really got to get is the sand and plants. I asked her what does she want to keep in there....a little community tank ? a tank full of "glowfish" (cardinal tetras) ? or something else and she replied "guppies" which i'm more than happy with as i've always had a soft spot for them. Pics to follow !!!

Little tank will hopefully be set up over the weekend !!!

Yep....went fine. All the fish were caught pretty quickly and the tank was on it's way to pompey by 10pm.
Off to the aquatic shop in the GC in a minute to get some bits for the little guppy tank.

So i get the new stand for the fish tank....two new light tubes plus 25kg of playpit sand for the base and all is looking rosy.
I get the tank cleaned out and then i notice a 2" crack in the base !!!!!! probably caused by it being in the cold.
So, £25 later, we have a new tank. Got the day off today so hopefully it'll be set up for when Katie gets home from school.
