Well, after the death of Penny I obviously wasn't in a very good mood and I was talking to one of our regular customers last week about her. He asked if I wanted another one which I though was just meaning "would you get another one?". I of course said yes. He mentioned about a stray that had turned up at his door a few weeks ago, a black 8 month old tom cat.
I went to see the cat-absolutely beautiful (but they all are to me) and customer said he would speak to his wife as he thought his wife might want to keep him. He also mentioned that his wife had taken him to be "done" the week before so I figured she would want to keep him given that she'd paid to have him done.
Anyway, saw customer again today, asked how cat was and he said still looking for another home. So I said I'll have him!
I'm going to go pick him up either on friday or saturday and take him up to my mum and dad's so I have access visits ;D
<thinkin of a name now>
Think I mentioned before that I'd seen the said stray cat outside our work before xmas but we were on our way to asda at the time. Funny that I ended up having him in the end! Shame he won't be a companion for Penny but at least I got to give her a loving home while she wasn't jumping in front of cars.

Wow Aprilaydee! I think that is wonderful news and I hope "Tom" is with you for a long time. I know he won't replace Penny but it will be lovely for you to have a new pet, and your devotion to her will be passed on to your new cat.

How about Nero, Kuro or Preto - all mean "black" in Italian, Japanese and Portugese respectively.

Gotta think about my boyf calling him... Doubt he'll want to shout any of those outta the door lol Nero just reminds me of the nutty emperor. I was thinkin about calling him Jupiter because Dabs was named after a cat from the book the alchemist's cat and I think Jupiter was the name of the black cat in that book. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alchymist's_Cat I liked that book (apart from the bit where they mentioned about Dabs being dissected by the sorcerer and being put in a jar....). Artemis...arty... Dammit (off the bed Dammit), Cole (from Charmed), Fred, Frank, Loki, Horus, Kevin, Katmandu... hmmmmmm I dunno now.

Yeah I love Charmed! Watch it before I go to bed too, helps me relax. Boyf used to call me witchy until I told him to pack it in because it was p***** me off. As you know I'm quite interested in that side of things but I don't believe I'm a witch or that I have special powers.... I just have long hair, like gardening, have an interest in the occult and love cats ;D What's so weird about that? lol

Nothing wrong with it at all Aprilaydee - just don't go putting any curses on me!!! Charmed hasn't been the same since Cole left!

As if I would!!
You're right about Cole/Julian McMahon he's gorrrrrrgeous. There isn't that much totty in Charmed for us girlies. Was a shame he left/was vanquished ;D
Anyway, going to phone the guy tonight and say we'll pick up pussy cat tomorrow after we've been to the estate agents. I still like the names fred, frank and kevin to go with arfer and percy. Could call him Brian I suppose. So many names... lol I'll wait until I get him and see what feels right.

Sounds like the best plan Aprilaydee - and I'll keep on hoping that they somehow bring Cole back!!!

Doubt it's going to happen now Plocket, the series has finished! Phoebe ends up settling down with Cupid and having babies <nods> Only chance is if they get the charmed sons series off the ground and maybe they'll introduce him back in that but I doubt it. Shame

DON'T TELL ME!!!!! I haven't watched them all yet!!! We are slowly renting the entire series, much of which we have seen, but we needed to see some of the first series. I think we are up to series 3 now as far as renting is concerned - it finishes after series 6 doesn't it?

Glad to hear your news - its awful losing any a pet - I lost two cats in the same year to illness and old age. I have a Fred and he's a fearless, feisty ginger and white moggy but so loveable. He just loves your ledgs when he's wet!!

Series 8! I've got 1-6 on DVD. I could post you the discs to save you renting them?
Penny was daft-she used to sit on the windowsill in the pouring rain rather than take shelter. I think she did it to get the rub down with the towel. The dog expects to be rubbed down everytime she comes in now even when she's not wet...

Oh don't worry about it Aprilaydee - I don't want them to get lost or damaged and the rental is very cheap. Series 8 though???
Oh bless her! Poppy sleeps on the windowsill anyway - it's nice a deep so she has a special cushion up there. It's funny how animals want attention when they are wet isn't it??? ;D

I hope that you'll be very happy together... ;D I wouldn't be without a pussycat...we managed 3 months after Mabel died (aged 19!) before we went and fetched Priya...a little furry bundle, terrified of EVERYTHING but with a purrrr like a road drill!
There are loads of sites with suggestions for cat names if you google...good luck

He's a keen ornithologist already... He's had a good explore now, I'd say he's pretty well settled, made a bee line straight for the food.

Oh he's GORGEOUS! Have you decided on a name yet?

No not yet, he's going berserk with some of the toys we've got here at the moment. We were thinking of Jaffa ;D
Sally went berserk when we brought him in, wanted to play with him and was bouncing around. Cat doesn't seem fussed by the dog now though.
Shadow seems appropriate since he's been skulking round a lot. Shadda.
He's just demolished all my mum's birthday cards on the hearth...
Yes, decided on Shadda (Shadow).

lol Plocket. I've finally got the use of my left arm back now after the cat has been sat on it for the past hour.
Sally is feeling neglected and isn't interested in the cat now lol

You're lucky Aprilaydee - numb arm aside, you don't have to endure Bear in the Big Blue House and you probably don't actually know the song!!! (Actually if I'm honest we don't watch it much either these days!)
Poor Sally! Just how many pets have you got btw?
