My sister's cat had a kitten about a fortnight ago now. It's black and my niece had dibs on the kittens when they were born so she has first pick. However, as there was only one and she wanted a girl not a boy, we've been having to wait to see what sex it is.
My sister confirmed yesterday that she's 99% positive it's a boy so he's mine!!
Shadda's going to have a mini him to play with in about 6 weeks time. I can't wait!

I've told my sister to get my niece to take some pics this weekend so when I get them I'll upload them.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooh I'm SOOOOOOO excited!!
Been telling Shads he's getting a little brother soon and that he's called Schmickles and he's got to look after him. He won't care as long as he's fed a lot.

god yeah. He's into absolutely everything. I was trying to put bamboo canes into the ground earlier and he kept attacking them and then when I finally got them into the ground he dug one of them up

Oh bless! He sounds like such a joy to have around. Unfortunately Poppy is getting a bit old for all that playing about, and I miss it. We are preparing for a rabbit next though - if it were me making the decision we'd have another cat!

you can have my rabbits if ya want... LOL they're bonkers too. They try to jump out of the hutch everytime you turn your back. Shads finds them fascinating.
OH left the lid off the hutch again the other night and we both thought we saw this dash of white goes past the back door and thought it was another cat. Then we realised it was Percy running around on the patio. Shads herded him back into the garage for us.
Luckily he didn't go up the steps into the garden or we'd have never have caught him because there was no fence/wall between us and the neighbours.

Oh your poor little rabbits! How can you be so cruel to give them away so easily??? Goodness knows what our cat will make of a rabbit but we aren't going to let them make friends. The rabbit will be in a cage in the garden, or in the hutch in the garage - I'm not taking any chances with LP's pet - when we get it. Shadda is a star! What a relief Percy didn't get any further - that really would have tested Shadda!!!!! ;D

Nah I love all my pets to bits. The rabbits are just crackers though. And they pee on each other I bought some wipes the other day to clean them with cos Percy is now practically yellow and arfer is a dodgy brown colour and looks sticky.... They look a little better but you can't get them to sit still while you wipe them...

well if you get one it won't be as bad. We've got 2 male rabbits so they tend to scent everywhere. 2 females would probably be better but they're more expensive to neuter apparently

I don't think LP is fussed about male or female - it just has to be black and white, and called Shimmer ;D

Our cat is black but has white paws and white whiskers - ours would be colour co-ordinated too! ;D I bet LP changes her mind if she doesn't find a black and white one, but the lady we are hoping to go to breeds Magpies so hopefully we'll find one we like

Sorry Jenny I didn't mean to ignore your question - it's just that the bunny picture was so cute!!! LP's just "aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh"ed at it The rabbit will sleep in a hutch in the garage (the hutch is 8ft long and two storeys so hopefully it won't get claustrophobic!!!) and have a run in the garden for the daytime, but it will also be allowed in the house. It certainly won't be kept in a cage all the time - that's cruel.

Well we go in our local Pets at Home store. They have plenty of toys. It's where we got them from in the first place £25 each.
They currently have a dumbell, 2 toy carrot things that have rattles inside and sisal rope top so they can throw them around, a plastic "igloo" and a log type thing you can bend so it's in the shape of an arch at the moment and they can go thru it and lie under it etc. They have a carrot each a day too and they're the reason I'm growing carrots.

They were only B&Q value carrots, 38p per pack before my 20% off!
And yes, they are spoilt! All my pets are. Love them sooooooooo much!

But they are still home-grown - a million times better than you can buy in the shops!!!!! I spoil my cat rotten but our rabbit, when we get it, isn't getting home-grown carrots! ;D

oh and Shads caught another bird today, didn't kill it again, brought it home over the high wall with his mouth around it's neck and it was flapping away. Managed to get him to drop it and it flew off again. Gave him a tap on the head and told him off. He was smoothing around me for about 20 minutes afterwards as if to say sorry LOL He's too cute to be angry with anyway.
I just can't believe that there are birds out there even stupider than the cat so that he can actually catch them. Even with a bloomin big bell around his neck.

Schmickles mk I isn't coming to live with us. My sister came home earlier and he had a lump on his head so she took him to the vets, said his name was Rufus cos she couldn't remember the name I'd decided on, and they realised he had a cyst on top of his head. They drained it but figured out that he is either blind or has very poor eyesight, might also be deaf. Also figured out he's a girl not a boy so he's now called Tilly. My sister says she can't let her leave the house now so she's going to keep her. She's asking around if my niece's friends have any left and if so, we'll pick it up on mon/tues. If not, my nephew's cat is due any time now so I'll have first dibs on one of those instead. Bit disappointed but I'd rather the kitten was safe, healthy and happy. Went out at 6:45am this morning to let Shads in for breakfast and saw Arfer sat next to him on the patio. Shads came running in and Arfer set off up the garden. I went into the garage and Percy was merrily sat there chewing away at whatever he was chewing so I coaxed him back into the hutch with a bowl of food, closed the front door and lifted the lid off the hutch so I could put Arfer back in when I eventually caught him. I chased Arfer around the garden, eventually pinned him down after he'd had a nibble at half my plants and put him in the hutch. I then noticed that Percy had escaped again and was back in the garage nibbling away. Eventually got them both into the hutch again and went to work
