Mainly on the basis that while I'd like another dog but don't want another dog, we are looking after this for three weeks (!) - I give you NOODLE THE LABRADOODLE: and Noodle having a scratch: It's about 9 months old, still very puppyish and huge. And, yes, that is a pink collar peeping from beneath the lamb-like curls. A pink rhinestone collar. OM (shakeshisoldgreyheadinsorrowwhataredogscomingtohowcanitakethisdownthepubsmiley)

What no holes in your lawn, no deheading of your flowers, no chasing cats through your flower beds - are you sure its a dog No, nothing remotely destructive, just relentless 'into everything' and boundless energy mainly evidenced by 'mad moments' of high-speed laps of the garden. If she thinks I'm going to chase her she's got another think coming... And the Diggit? Not sure Noodle and Knobby should be in a louche confined space together where the atmosphere crackles with sexual tension... in the Boy Scout ethos, I think it's only fresh air and exercise that is keeping him 'contained'. Like the idea of the braces though... OM.

I'm Jeffrey sitting tonight - cats are all back at table level, JR is in his element winding up all and sundry - mayhem has temporarily returned, counting down the hours Have to say I'm impressed though as Jeffrey sat and gave his paw as soon as I started getting his dinner ready - his manners deteriorated rapidly afterwards .........

Jeffrey had a lovely time and was picked up at a reasonable time this am. JR is knackered, cats are back to ground level and have stopped hissing and spitting and peace has returned Just thinking about the week stint very soon (you like dogs don't you OM ? )

Looks more earnest than it was, they were at it like puppies for an hour... a week will fly by. OM

Feeling a bit noodlepanged in her absence, I offered to look after the aforementioned Edward (11months) and his kennelmate Dylan (11years) while their normal feeders are away. I was forewarned that a) they are a bit destructive and b) Dylan is actively grooming Edward into the ways of Sodom. Very actively... Neither warning could hardly prepare me for the full horror of it all, but it's only for 4 days... Sorry the pics a bit blurred - it was impossible to get them to keep still for a second - but here they are doing more what I would consider dogs do naturally... OM.

Quite why Dylan 'pursues' Edward so enthusiastically - and why Edward tolerates it - is a bit of a mystery, but the upshot (if you'll pardon the expression) is that for his own protection (and to spare the household night-long howls and grunts of the most horrible canine kind) Edward sleeps in a cage, Dylan morosely slumped against the bars. Reminds me a bit of "Brother Gorilla" by Jake Thackray.... OM.

I'm bracing myself for Wednesday when I will be Jeffrey sitting for 2 whole weeks Jeffrey has turned into a such a lovely dog and if it wasn't for our barking mad JR it wouldn't be a problem. Its getting out of the door in the morning that is going to be the trouble as the JR goes mental if he knows I'm going out and Jeffrey just loves joining in. My son commented that its just as well I get on with the neighbours as anyone else seeing me leaving the house in the morning would think I had tourettes

Hope it's not as bad as that though, and you have some good times. also sounds like some trips to the beach are in order - weather permitting. PS. Don't forget the camera - I'm missing Cornwall.

It will be bad every morning Ali I just know it will be, cats will be table height and lots of spitting and huffy moods - what worries me is I will come home to find that Jeffrey and the JR will have been playing tug of war whilst I am at work as neither will give in Its not exactly beach weather at the moment but at least Jeffrey won't find so much revolting stuff to roll in. As you can tell I'm really looking forward to this

Oh Heck - I hope they leave you some kitchen to cook in. Hey guess what - R has come up with a great idea tonight, we could buy some electric blankets (not proper camping I know.) But means we can come down to Cornwall earlier in the year. ;D

Only for the day OM have previous dogsits put you off ;D bet poor Lulu didn't think much to the guests I'd willingly have them for longer - and no doubt will at some point - but you're right... there will have to be certain adjustments to routine. Lu is not at all impressed with any occupation that might distract me from devising menus and feeding her. A 'distraction' that actually wolfs down tasty morsels of catfood left for later is probably doubly unwelcome. OM
