I can't believe you've never had the pleasure of eating new potato chips Auricula. Our chippies always put a sign up in the window "now frying new potato's" ;D

It's funny you should mention them Chuckles About 2 weeks ago on a Saturday my friend and I had a fish supper from the local chippie. I was telling her I'd seen a sign in the window that day saying they were now frying new potatoes. They were absolutely delicious and the fish and chips were served in a box with a little portion of mushy peas and a container of home made tartar sauce. Very upmarket for a fish and chip shop. They don't do it like that in her part of Belfast. What about you, have you had any?

I do realise how lucky I am with having a chippie,Indian and Chinese take aways so nearby Chuckles Tig . Ruth was remarking on it when she was over as they live out in the country and nobody delivers to them. They have to drive for about 40 mins if they want a take away.

They have nearly finished extending our Sainsburys - it will be twice as big It is handy for me as the store is in walking distance and we don't have a car

Chuckles I've just caught this thread up. We don't eat ready meals but I can admit to buying some Sainsbury's pasta sauces instead of slogging to make my own. The new store is quite good ( I'd have preferred it to be bigger) but it is more expensive so I only get "weekend food" there. OH still goes to Tescos for the day to day things. They do have some good vegetarian ingredients but are a bit lacking on the cheese front

Well I could of sworn you were a great user of M&S ready meals Auricula, must of dreamt that one I've been in our new sainsbury a couple of times and whilst its very roomy and nicely set up they don't have that much of choice/ selection in my opinion and some of the prices for basics seem a bit high. Nice range of clothing and housey bits though. Didn't get my pancakes Ladygardener unexpected guests
