I don't believe I've just read what I've read . Keith, we bought him as a white tipped Sterlot that wouldn't get any bigger than 1ft because of the size of our pond . Give the circumstances, don't you think it would be much better for Earl if I found him a nice big Koi pond to live in S x

Susie, it might be worth getting a second opinion on your sterlet. Where did you get him from? Have you another 'Big' aquatic store you could turn to for advice? The one in the pond at the house we nearly bought, was a diamond back sterlet, I think, and they do grow big. Having read Rita's link it does say 'most' grow quickly to over a metre in length. Your one might not. This is the only reference I can find on the white tipped sterlet, so maybe worth giving them a ring for info. Don't panic yet! Keith P.s. Just found this look under sterlet in the menu. Hope this may help.

Thanks Keith, you're a Earl was bought from a very large garden centre with an extensive aquatics department. However, we have recently discovered an aquatics store about 8 miles away who don't sell anything other than fish and fish related products so I'll give them a ring. Your second link filled me with some hope. If Earl is only going to reach 2ft then we can easily construct a better pond for him and then maybe get more involved with Koi , and eventually connecting the two ponds together! I just love making things difficult ;D S x

Thanks Susie, I try to help if I can. That project of yours sounds great and I am sure it will look pefect, if your pond now is anything to go by. Keep us informed of what you find out. Keith
