;D ;D ;D ....two together. Many moons ago i had a largish pond in the garden....my friends children of about 9 and 10 were fascinated with the wildife and they took to collecting frogs.....i was hanging out the washing keeping an eye on them with their nets and buckets and i asked to see what they had got. I was looking through their prized collection when the boy said 'and that ones a doubler'. A doubler says I....yes he says....we tried to get them apart but they're stuck. Oh my...

Sorry you haven't got any yet Chuckles I know what you mean about Grass Snakes - our frog population went down drastically when we had one in our garden Now we get frog spawn and the fish eat most of it

I noticed the frogspawn in my pond last week - about large enough to cover an A4 sheet of paper - the pond isn't much bigger. I worry whether, if they call become tadpoles and frogs, how many will be able to survive. Last year the tadpoles seem to stay that way for a very long time and I think I only got one baby frog (frogget?) and he's about an inch long when I saw him in February.

You could try feeding them this year borderbabe

Tadpoles staying tadpoles longer, normally is caused by low temperature levels throughout their life, which mean when the spawn was laid as well. If it is warmer, they will develop into frogs quicker. Also have you got plenty of oxygenating weed in the pond, as they are vegetarian while small and slowly become carnivarious. You can tell at what stage this happens, when they start feeding on their own kind!! Keith

Did a quick head count today, and I saw 13 - I think the other 987 must be lurking at the bottom of the pond ;D ;D ;D Most of them seemed to be lurking around the spawn area, some of them even sat on top of it!!

Seen frogs but no spawn. I never had frog spawn but I have loads of newts and they are at it. I have their younsters every year. Maybe my pond, which sits in the shade of the house all winter, is a tad too cold for the frogs. That or the newts kick them out as the pond is their Honeymoon Hotel.
