Hi y'all - miss me? Mrskp - thats a Mammillaria, spinosissima I think. Chuckles, the one that you think is a funny colour at the top - that's the right colour. The colour below is wrong. Thet are generally showing problems of inadequate light levels which is why they etiolate (get thinner at the top). You need the sunniest position available with somewhere cool and bright for winter. Thanks Mick, how strange about the tall one with the colour prob, it only just changed colour at the top. They are currently in the back room window which faces north, think I'll move them to the front room window which faces South and there is no heating on in that room. Thanks for the advise And yes I missed ya, been on hols ??

Morning Chuckles. It is indeed its Tesco Premium lightweight cat litter - and it's damn good!
I set cuttings in it, water them in and within 48 hours they were rooting up. It's a bit tricky working out the watering regime as it's quite hard to tell if it's damp or not but I am coming round to weekly.

Ooooh thanks for that Mick. Sounds like the watering is about the same as the problems I had with the Seramis granules ;D you do get used to judging these things though, thanks for the tip. Must get OH to get some next time he goes to Tesco Express ;D

Hey Mick, long time no speak. Had to show you these, what annoyed me was my neighbours throw away comment "oh they're just house leeks" I think they deserve much more. Its so annoying when people look but do not see! Foz

Just house leeks is a compliment Foz. Just as in justifiably beautiful ( some people are blind to everyday things but that is because they have not learned to slow down and enjoy, not every one can be a true gardener )

It feels like a life style rather than a hobby. Some Tao and some of my own beliefs that one should enjoy all things one can enjoy. Like when waiting for the bus I discovered a lovely little grass growing in the pavement. I spend all time waiting for the bus observing it. The way the seeds stood form the stem the way it moved in the wind and how this was influenced by passers by. Life is busy enough as it is.
