None of my Fuchsias have started flowering yet. In fact, nothing I have in pots has. We just haven't had enough sun or warmth. Glad to see your cuttings have done well though RF ;D

Beautiful photos and lovely fushias there. I had'nt bookmarked this thread so am only answering now WT, yes I will take cuttings. have a little mini greenhouse this year so they should do ok for me. I'm well pleased with that little plant. I did'nt really think it would survive so I'm delighted. I'd bought it from a school sale for next to nothing.

Fuchsia's root very quickly Steve - I would expect that you should have the first signs within a week or so.

I took some fushia cuttings this week, have actually planted them in the ground in a shady place, we'll see. I'm going to try putting some in water today to see if they take.

I had to smile when I read your post Pip! Whilst I'm a tidy girl at heart I cant keep up with all the 'sheddings' from my plants. Fortunately, we usually have a helpful breeze here that blows things into a heap for me

Well I have never had any luck with cuttings - even the GC man said that he took 50 cuttings and only got one last year. Will try my best though Wee. They grow to about 2 meters - lovely plants.

Isn't checkerboard a corker Isabella....a real old favourite.
Some stunners on here, i used to grow the fuchsias for brighton parks back in the 80's and pretty much had a free reign to do and grow what i want as long as we had the required amount of half standards for bedding

Today I measured my gold leaved fuchsia which is planted in my front garden. It is 4ft tall and 41/2ft wide and it stays in leaf all winter.I must cut it back this year a it has not flowered as well as it does usually.I planted it 4 years ago and it has gone mad!! A bonus is that it is planted next to an agapanthus, which did not flower. The spreading monster fuchsia has squeezed the aggys roots and this year it produced 8 large blooms ;D

My Lady Boothby's are wiggling through the quince but not too many flowers this year. Not overly hardy I've found. But... This is my Thalia that I hack hugely to nothing each winter and it always bounces back. It was a nursery reject originally. Now 5ft 9ins tall.
