Have you considered trying them in a pot, Geranium? I've seen them in pots so it can be done. Not any of the large varieties (6ft plus), but 4-footer in a big pot in which you could keep the soil acidic would work. This one is supposed to grow to 4/5 feet. Our soil here is not chalk, but I still add peat moss plus an acidic fertilizer. Peat moss use is not an environmental issue here (as far as I'm aware), but if it is where you are there are other things you could use to keep the soil acidic

You have some lovely Iris TT, are they all the big 'flag' types? I got the ladder out to get a photo of Blue Moon ever growing skyward, which is more lilac than blue This is the penstemon Light of life which was kindly donated by Jas and one of my all white violas has had a 'crisis' and produced this flower ;D Wonder if I can get any seeds off that flower?? x Tig

I did try an 'Inkarho' type a few years ago, but sadly, it died.

This is so pale I'm not sure it shouldn't be in the White & Cream club. Heliotrope that is atm providing the strongest perfume in the garden, I don't know the variety so I have to keep taking cuttings every year as if I loose it I won't know where to get another one Jillyx This is sweet, I wish we had smelly puter.

I thought of you Jilly when I saw that colour combo, you have some lovely mixtures but that is just a happy accident My cerinthe are nearly flowering - they've got the bracts! I'm sticking these on here - but they are purple foliage rather than flowers ... my new oxalis triangularis and heuchera berry smoothie x Tig

T & M strikes again!!! I bought these as cerinthe major (not purpurescens), they were shown as the ones with part yellow flowers I have one more to open but I'm not going to hold my breath! These are pretty though, and they were free x Tig
