I love Poppies to JL, they really brighten the garden up. I have a couple of clumps of the red orientals and I white one with a plummy purpley centre, name of which I can't think of. Oh I can Perry's White. My red ones are flowering at the moment but no sign of buds on the Perry's White

Sorry Nolawn I haven't got a clue what its called. I have had various types of poppies in the garden for a number of years and each season brings out something I haven't seen before - thats why I love them ;D Lilac this evening My Opium poppies all came from some seeds given to me a long time ago and Lilac is usually predominant, but there are quite a few plants yet to show their true colours ;D

I think poppies are lovely but they don't tend to do well in my garden. I've got some lovely orange ones - not like the one Chuckles has shown above but much more papery - I'll take a photo if I get a chance and if one flowers in this rain! Sara sent me some seeds for Black Paeony poppies which I've sown this year, but I don't expect them to flower until next year.

One of my allotment neighbours has a really fluffy pink one, if I see him I'm going to ask him for some seed. Hang on, I'll go and see if I can find it on google images..............

They all look dead gorgeous, I could quickly develop a poppy passion! I've got some of the red annuals and californians, but I scattered a few more varieties about this year, so I'm waiting to see what, if any, come up.

My first Venus has awoken How girly is that! I can only see one definite plant, but it has a few big buds on it. That's if they survive tomorrows predicted high winds and continuing belting rain.

These are called Irish Cream and they were very badly 'slugged' but I managed to keep a couple even though they are a bit 'chewed' The dark ones are not a frilly as the light ones. LLX
