Could be a kind of Wygelia too. Tigs close-ups are incredibly difficult but so nice keep them coming tig. Erm oh yeah we have to guess this one first hm..... The before answers seem better than mine

;D Well done Dutchy!! It is Weigela Briant Rubidor I was busy snapping the bug on the flower - and only after did I notice how pretty the flowers were inside the bells! Everyone had enough? Or shall I see if anything is worthy of snapping tomorrow? Happy to oblige - but only if people still want to guess. Tig

Now that I know it's a Weigela, it is obvious I really should look more closely at the flowers on shrubs. Mmmmmm lovely pic Ruthie, but a good think is required.

No Not a fern, but it is all one leaf and is a rather tender plant (try telling mine that tho' seems tough as old boots to me).

Yeeeees it so is!!! Bet you're the only one who knew that?!! I know a lot of plants but until the lady whose flat we stayed in in Madeira gave it to me I'd never seen it! The RHS book calls it "Mexican Bush" and I can safely say it is NOT hardy in Norfolk....but I always take cuttings.
