Despite the dreary cold weather there are still things in flower. Let's share pictures of what winter-flowering we have, so we can inspire each other! ;D Hamamellis (Witch Hazel) I think this is a Corsican Hellebore - perhaps someone could enlighten me? And my glorious Clematis Freckles - it's almost a shame that the flowers are so shy and are hardly noticed unless you go looking for them. Still they are a nice surprise when you do see them!

My favourite is Lonicera fragrantissima and if I could work out how to take a decent picture of it I would show it to you. The scent is wonderful.

Thank you very peeps - I'm flattered Owdboggy those are lovely plants. I'm not sure why but I've struggled with Witch Hazel in my garden - I eventually bought a less fancy one (the one shown) and I've had it for a few years now. I love them My hellebores aren't nearly as far on as yours but I hope they will do well for me again this year! Can I ask though - do you find the stinking hellebore spreads a bit? I've got some in the garden but am not sure whether to pull it up or not!!!

H foetidus is a real seed thug, but I just pull up the unwanted ones (wear rubber gloves, the smell does not come off!) The other Hellebore which I am having seed trouble with is H, argutifolius (which I think is what your Corsican one is). I have two types and they both seed all over the place. We have 4 or maybe 5 Witch Hazles (know where 4 are but we both think there was another one,but cannot find it yet). H, thibetana is last years picture, they are not open yet this year. I wish people could smell the Daphne, it is wonderful.

Thanks Owdboggy - I'll keep an eye on the two hellebores - I've had the "Corsican" but I've had it a few years and haven't had seedlings from it yet. Perhaps there isn't room!!! And good luck on finding your missing Witch Hazel Thank you Superuthie and LNG - I only took it as a quick snap but it did turn out well - you can see why the flowers are likened to orange peel!

Hehehe you are right about the little faces! Actually I was very distracted at just how the petals look like orange peel There are some lovely flowers about at the moment, as we've shown, and in lots of different colours too
