I only wear tights in the Winter! I get fed up with wearing trousers every day - have to wear them at work!

Not wore tights for..............must be 15 yrs, my legs get claustrophobia ;D hate them. Not keen on socks either, only wear them with gdn shoes or wellies and some boots. It's about the same length of time since i wore a skirt or a dress, i live in jeans or other casual type trousers. Tights........2 seams at the back as I remember. Bit of useless info..........I wore white tights when I got married 25 1/2 yrs ago and I still have them god knows why

OMG Jlottie you've made me laugh - LP's tights are usually around her knees so I bought age 7-8 for her recently (they didn't have size 6-7, and she's only just turned 5) and now they stay up!!! School tights always shrink so the 5-6 size seems to be for ages 3-4!!!
Legs getting claustrophobia Busy Bee?? Absolutely brilliant - I must remember that one!!! ;D

Mind you, Sarah Raven seems to garden in - tights?? How do you know she garden's in tights?? Her skirts are so long and her boots are so tall how can you see them???

well all this talk of clothes that don't fit has had me scurrying to weight watchers (on-line) I have actually acheived critical mass and could explode at any moment so I've got to DO something...ie stop eating so much...would be VERY easy if I wasn't such a greedy person. ;D

Talking of high waisted trousers. Daughter pulled babies trousers up when she changed her nappy. 8yr old marched up & pulled the down a bit saying she looks Simon Cowell! Janet.

Hi, I work for a clothing company that is quite big on the continent, but only have a few stores in the UK, but it is expanding! I never have trouble finding garments, well you could say I work at the source. The clothing is quite basic, not small sizes (german brand) and with the right fashion detail. Denims are not showing your *** nor come to the bust We have very nice knitwear, T-shirts etc. I have no clue regarding english sizes, but we go till size 46. I'm very average built (but I was thinner before), and I have size 40, so there is room for more <euhhowshallIputthissmiley> personality to put in the garments. In fact we are so basic that I have to shop elsewhere if I want something dramatic. We are mid price. Higher than the H&M or Zara, lower than Tommy or ... I get frustrated at Zara, because here I can't fit in their trousers, so I don't try it anymore. I always want to buy at H&M (I worked for them before, so that is why maybe). I wish we had Monsoon in Belgium because they have great garments. I don't know if I can put a link of the brand I work for on these boards. We have several stores in London, Canterbury, Manchester (??) and by the end of the year I think we will have an e-store to in the UK. Good luck in your quest for the fitting garment. To Isabella, The 2 seams of your tights go to the back!!! It must be very uncomfortable to wear them up front, this one seam you wear at the back then will go immediatly to a very uncomfortable place. It is not very elegant to see a lady in the street trying to get the seams back where they should be!!! You have the same problem with too tight strings. A problem I don't have, because I wear shorts ;D As it is a ladies only thread I suppose we can discuss underwear too Anneliesje

Hi All Just caught up with this thread and thought I'd put in my twopennoth!! Rubbish clothes shopping opportunities in Cornwall (even the shops in Truro are tiny) although we have just had a largish Next open locally - hoorah!! I don't really like wearing trousers ( although I seem to wear them a lot ) and my tights always have the 2 seams up the back. Since I stopped work I have put on weight ( wearing elasticated waists means you don't notice the weight gain for ages ) and I have decided to do something about it!!!! I am joining Slimming World so I can lose weight and buy lots of new clothes for my holiday in February ( probably on line shopping ). Wish me luck - I'll need it!!! My dream is to have the figure of Victoria Beckham - but as I probably currently weigh more than David Beckham there's not much chance of that!!! Still, a girl ( ! ) can dream, can't she.......?

I'm doing WW on-line as I just can't be doing with getting to class....I should be an expert at weight loss strategy by now..but I like the back up one gets when slimming with an organisation. I find making my own clothes solves an awful lot of problems. I'm lucky because My mum was a dressmaker and I had two aunts one was a tailoress and the other a miliner - so no excues really!!
I love playing around with patterns and fabric to get just what I want. My OH brought me an all signing all dancing sewing machine a few years ago and I just love playing with all the stitches - its does about a dozen different buttonholes!
