Hi I have a really nice buddleja "weyeriana golden glow" But it is a tad too big for my little garden and I think it may have to go. The bee's love it and I feel rotten about taking it away. Any idea's about what to replace it with? It does not have to be a shrub. Thanks Sara

Well, if you want to replace it with a bee friendly plant, you can't get better than Oregano. I have several in my garden of various sorts and they are always laden with bees all summer. If Oregano doesn't take you fancy - Agastache (Hyssop) is another one bees cluster all over. Shame about the Buddleja though.....

Can you really not keep it pruned back, Sara, if you want to keep it. I thought they were tough and could stand that kind of thing?

Any chance of a bit more guidance Sara?

Sara, could you not get a few cuttings going and maybe keep them in a couple of largish pots, this would restrict its growth. I have 3 in pots and whilst the effect is not quite the same you do get a good number of flowers for the bee's and butterflies. Or as Daisy Chain suggested you could keep the bulk of it pruned back.
