Sweetleaf....you'll love this. I read somewhere how to deal with junk mail! If you get junk mail in with a statement or utility bill send it back with your payment. Can you imagine it if all the payments everymonth contained junk mail back to them! If they don't send any you could always recycle some of your other stuff! Great idea! Which reminds me, the utilities need to be paid....erm two weeks ago (gulp)

LOL my postie tells me that all he seems to deliver these days is junk mail. Sad really as i don't even read it just straight in the recycling box! Where the junk mail includes reply paid envelopes, send it back to them. They have to pay to receive it. BUT, the big problem is junk mail delivered by the Post Office (under contract) addressed to "The Occupier" or "The Householder" etc. If everyone returned it via the Post Box, the Post Office would have to pay to dispose of it. It might make them review their policy.

Planning notices are addressed to the occupier, so don't be too hasty in binning them, otherwise you could miss the chance of objecting to "what ever" on your door step.

My normal Hazel is too. I checked and double checked. An other thought crossed my mind. Why did the Normans call Greenland green land. It's still all ice these days.
Geranium Pratense decided that it was nice enough and is in full bloom again. Margi would go mad here. Pink everywhere. And one little orange Robin to complement it all. The best clash I have ever had in my garden. Dutchy

I heard something once about the mix up with the names re Greenland(Icy) and Iceland (green) It was because of the explorer (insert name here ?) who discovered them , and wanted to keep Iceland to himself, so switched the names...or it could be a folk tale History is dotted with such questionable tales. Using this as evidence it would seem to suggest that even back in Viking days, the weather in those places was the same.

I spotted that my daffs and tulips are poking through the ground - silly little things! They'll have a shock when the cold weather DOES start!

There are many causes for the changes in temperatures. Earth's wobble, natural cycles meaning an ice age every 10,000 years or so (which we are overdue for... we're also overdue for an extinction event....), volcanic eruptions, forest fires etc.
I admit, we're not making it any better by pumping lots of c*** into the atmosphere that wasn't there before, chopping down incredibly large areas of forest (Was it Jimmy Carr who said we're destroying areas the size of wales every day? But why is it never wales?). We're invading the habitat of other animals, if it hasn't already been destroyed by the change in temperature, dumping rubbish in places it shouldn't be and killing other animals ie the turtles eating plastic bags after mistaking them for jelly fish.
As the saying goes, we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we merely borrow it from our children and it really upsets me to think that if and when I have children, they might grow up never seeing some plants/animals or that some animals will only exist in a zoo.
I'm gradually training my boyf though-finally getting him to turn the tap off while he's brushing his teeth and not leaving the TV on standby.
