This thread was started by Garden Mouse from the Beeb board who has now joined this one It was really funny and I havent seen a thread like this on this board so I will start it off Green cords stuffed into green wellies that make me walk funny as they are so stiff Purple plastic gloves Black waterproof coat Hair in pony tail that gets full of twigs and hair ends up standing on end - if cold then I pop on a pale blue ski hat (over pony tail) that makes my head look enooooooooooormous Neighbour saw me today cutting back my pyracanthas and I startled him am not sure if he recognized me

My scruffy jeans, wellies, gardening gloves....Depending on how cold it is either a strappy top vest or a thick jumper and coat. I normally have my walkman on me too so I can sing along while gardening.

oo Susie you'll catch your death. (are you better yet by the way?)
I wear old jeans, tee shirt or sweater, pink paisley wellies (a present...nothing to do with personal choice...)and old black gardening gloves. If the weather is inclement I wear my voluminous ORANGE workman's waterproof coat that has a red reflective trim.. ;D OH got given it at work and refused to use it because he said it looked like he'd been Tango-ed...he keeps threatening to take my photo when I'm wearing it...but I have told him that if he does I'll have to kill him.
In the summer I wear cut offs and a tee shirt...and a sun hat if it's really hot....and LOTS of sunblock because otherwise I burn (I've never had a tan in my life...straight from peely-wally to lobster that's me)

Oh Susie - is that when you are in the Naughty Shed She's never worn that outfit when I've been in the naughty shed........ ;D I'm sure we HAVE had this thread before but I could be wrong. I usually wear an old pair of trainers, tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt with the logo "who ate all the pies" ! If it's cold, I wear an old sweatshirt and today I also had a black padded waistcoat that my mum bought me a couple of years back. FA x FA x

erm... whatever Im wearing when the urge takes me.Ive been known to weed in my dressing gown and slippers. ;D OOh OOH I do that as well...often find myself waylaid on the way to take some washing to the out-house...I'll get sidetracked and have to fill the bird feeders...then I'll nip into the GH to open the window....open up the CF...then I'll notice the odd weed...OH will be standing at the backdoor saying 'For Goodness sake woman you're practically naked!' ;D ....oops.....

Yes, I can remember this from the BBC boards. Toonia was most amused by my summer attire as I recall.
Well today for instance....
Bottom half: My bespoke gardening jeans - bought new especially for the garden, and green wellies.
Top half: Cotton T-shirt, cotton shirt, acrylic sweater (£4.50 from Matalan!), thermal scarf, XXL (I'm not that fat!) heavy padded bodywarmer and Thinsulate hat.
My Nanook of the North outfit in other words. In extreme conditions I have been known to wear two sweaters. Any colder and it's not worth going out!
In the summer, it usually just an old t-shirt, and - always - shorts and an old pair of trainers. It's a bit dodgy shinning up the stepladder to cut the hedge wearing shorts though and I have the scars to prove it. ;D

Hand-me-up jeans from my son. He is over 6ft tall and I am a shortarse, so they are far too big. I have to turn up about 6 inches of the legs and unless I wear a belt they keep falling down. Yesterday I couldn't find my belt. I did however find a bit of cabling which the burglar alarm chappie had left behind. Mrs Bill calls me Compo!

Combats(plenty of pockets), t-shirt, wooly jumper, either fleece or bodywarmer, if it is cold and dry a camoflage jacket and if its raining a wax jacket. either a cap or a wooly hat and if its really cold a hat with furry ear flaps(very fetching ), and a pair of steel toe-cap boots to top it all off.

I don't think it matters what we wear or what we look like as long as we are comfy and happy, doing what we all love best GARDENING.

Here's a little competition to see whether everyone's been paying attention These are some of the people who have described what they wear in the garden on this thread - who are they? A B C D E F G H Answers on a postcard please ... A few cluesI haven't done everyone I have done one person twice There are 2 male dolls & 6 female ones (sometimes it's a bit hard to tell!) The doll site doesn't always provide exactly what people have described so in some cases I've had to go for the closest I can find I haven't done Barbara

What ever is most comfortable! In winter this usually means jeans and a sweater or two with a fleece jacket if necessary.
In summer trousers or shorts and a tee-shirt - I've got one with "Lady Gardener" on it in dark green very apt don't you think!!!!
