I've dead headed some of the tall allium purple sensation before they set seed, there is more than enough already. Dead headed the aqualegias that have gone to seed and the big rhododendron, as much as I could safely reach anyway. Pulled some more weedy grass that was flowering in the front borders plus some self sown wildflowers aka weeds, groundsel & cats ears.

I've watered to make up for the shoddy job that has been done in my absence and potted a few things on. I have another 12 replacement salvias from Hayloft...so I've got the 10 that survived from the first lot, another 12 and now another 12! That's a lot of salvias!

It sure is Jasmine, the scent will be wonderful. I've planted the cucumber plants out on the plot, dug up the garlic only to find white rot on some I've raked the bed and I'm going to use the space to bring on all my wall flowers, I think there are over 30 germinated

Snipped more curled leaves off the peach, watered all the containers, and fed the camellias, toms, peppers and cucs. Emptied 3 pots of bulbs that were rubbish this year, at least I can re-use the pots for dahlias, etc. Potted up the rudbeckia gloriosas I'd grown from a late sowing, I've put 5/6 per larger pot so they'll be a clump when planted out. Got stuff out of the growhouse and gave everything a good soak as I kept forgetting to do them. When I cut the seed grown dahlias back so they would bush up I poked the top bits into a pot and put a bag over them, they've rooted! I've pruned more flowering stems off the stipa gigantea, hacked back two more clems that were smacking me in the face as I walked by, and deadheaded some of the peonies that have dropped their petals in the heat. Potted up the replacement hydrangea 'camilla' which isn't 'camilla', that's 3 'not camillas' I've got now - thanks to T & M plus 2 Bavaria (possibly 4 as the replacements for those look dodgy too) This is what Camilla should look like These are mine First lot Replacement This is what Bavaria should look like This is mine The replacements are in bud, still green, but I won't hold my breath!

Always an interesting surprise from T&M Tig! I potted up my extras from Hayloft, planted up some more pots that had daffodils in them and watered everything really well.

I planted 2 rows of wallflowers, watered and weeded, cleaned the paths around our plot, no one else seems to bother.

You can never have enough salvia Jasmine. All those Hydrangea are lovely Tig but T&M have done it again have'nt they. You might end up with a whole garden full of Hydrangea at this rate of going. Barbara, well done with all those wallflowers, next spring will be amazing. In my own garden I've pulled up poppies, honesty, a few weeds that were lurking, forget me nots too. Pruned all the Roses which have all bloomed or are still blooming, tied in Clematis, cut bach some of the Rugosa Roses that were too heavy, cut stalks from Aqualegia and Geum. Everything needs a really good soaking but that will be this evening.

This is the replacement 'Bavaria' today, not looking hopeful I've got all the begonias planted into their containers today, a couple were slow to start but hopefully they'll eventually flower. It was too hot and sticky to do much else, I just cleaned the alliums I lifted yesterday and checked 3 alstroes in pots, think they were too wet over winter and rotted.

That's a shame about the plants rotting Tig, it has happened to some of my Dahlia. That Hydrangea looks very healthy anyhow. Jenny got out the hose and we gave everything in the garden a really good soak.

My own fault LG, I should have planted them out, but they weren't very big so was cautious. S & S brigade have demolished half my newly sprouted sweetcorn and when I opened the WIG this morning the pepper roter augsburger was half stripped I've tried not to use pellets because of all the froglets in the garden, but I've now put some in the WIG. Had to tie up some peony flowers which are so big they'd flopped and were in danger of snapping off. I've watered a few recently planted wilty things, need some rain.

We got lots of little jobs done on the plots, tidied paths and public spaces of weeds, yesterday I planted out my salvia and cut some peonies for the house.

The spirea bridal wreath has grown like a triffid and was starting to block the path to the WIG so I've given it a Telly Savalas haircut Removed the garlic scapes (not cooking them though), and sown a dozen more Mr Majestic marigolds as Monty suggested. Put them in the WIG for now. More watering to do after tea.

I've planted out another dozen wallflowers in the front garden, I've been bitten on the back of my leg for my troubles, got cream and a plaster on it, changed the water for the birds and cut a few sweet peas, they smell divine.

I've been out deadheading this morning and cutting more stems off the stipa giganteas so I can get past them without getting a face full of pollen, my eyes were really itchy with it. I need to do more watering later if it doesn't rain.

Watered pots and baskets this morning, then had a couple of hours on the plots, planted out some more leeks, I'm hoping they will be a second lot for the winter, planted out cucumber plants on the bottom plot late I know but behind because of the cold weather, weeding as usual and watering in the GH.

Weeding & watering here too, it's bone dry and lots of plants are wilting. I can't water it all though. I've cut back a lot of geranium pheums and pulled a dozen or may hazel saplings, blasted squirrel!

Been gardening all day as the OFSTED site hasn't been working. The ground is damp after all the rain and the weeds came up easily. I've done about half the bed edges too. I've also finished all the summer pots.

I've spent a lot of time in the garden lately. In the GH when it was raining. Weeding the borders and trimming shrubs that are getting too big. 4 tomato plants are now in big pots on the patio (Cherokee purple, fruit punch and another one...) cleared out the GH, took the slats off the staging and the last of the bubble wrap down. Cleaned the glass and aluminium frame and swept out...then dug over the beds either side, dug in fresh compost and gave it a good soaking. Whilst that settled in I watered the plants that were going in...then planted up the GH beds and put up string supports. 2 tomatoes (Shirley and Annie's Singapore)...a cucumber (long one this year instead of the usual babies) and some sweet peppers. Then popped some chilli plants in big pots (thanks RF).
The colocasia survived the winter in the GH so I repotted it in fresh compost, left it in the GH for now. As for the rest of the garden...planted a couple of thalictrums that had been overwintering in pots. I've kept another one in a pot as insurance. Planted a bit more bedding....salvias, antirrhinums, rudbeckias, cerinthe, calendulas and zinnias...no doubt the snails will have a fine feast on them...
My peas were pathetic so I took them out and used the pot for some morning glories and a cobaea.

Cut back the phormium leaves so I can get up the middle path again, lots of deadheading and weeding in the back this morning. This aft I had to get the hedge clippers out and tackle the box hedge so I could climb in to get to the geraniums before the seeds drop off, managed to clip a clematis in the process Cleared and weeded that area then tackled the rest of them in the wide border down the right hand side of the garden. Had to tug at some and a couple came up with a sod of earth but they grow like weeds in there so no worries. Did my back no good though, got told off by OH for carrying on when I knew it was pinging, but I wanted it all cleared in one go. I have plans to plant dahlias in large pots and pop them in the gaps, once I know what colour the dahlias are. The brown bin is full and out for collection tomorrow.

So much on the bottom plot, I added to the raised bed to make it higher, cut the lower leaves off the toms. back filled holes Derek made getting metal edges out, watered and fed the toms, weeded between the onions and peas, I must take a bin liner down when I next go to bring home all the plastic I collect that blows around between the plots, and the pear trees need summer pruning when we get a chance.

More deadheading, poppies, peonies & roses mainly, picked all the sweet peas and popped them in a vase outside, OH doesn't like the smell of them Weeded the corner behind the garage that seems to trap the weed seeds blowing in from the empty bungalows unkempt garden two doors down, it's going to be a job to clear it up when it eventually goes on the market. Watered the toms and picked a couple of courgettes to add to the stir fry we're having for tea.
