It's that time of year I'm afraid when our four legged friends (the large and small ones) take refuge inside For anyone that does have them coming in the house, I was always told not to bait inside as this only encourages them to come in looking for food. Try to try find where they are coming in, as in their route. They usually have a track which they keep to along the sides of walls wether it be the house or shed etc, put your bait along this route. I have two rat bait boxes outside which have a tunnel through them like this www.screwfix.com/prods/48686/Cleaning/Pest-Control/Rentokil-Rat-Bait-Box they go through the tunnel on their way and have a nice feed ;D I seem to be under control with mine atm but still have mouse traps set in the shed and GH and the bait boxes outside and also a couple of plant pot saucers out and about too Happy catching ;D

Here's my Mousey Story. ;D Setting Two More Places at the Table Yes, I hope you are all having a sit down as you read this latest story. What a shock. We have two new guests in our home as of this morning. Not more Chimney Swifts but very cute. The dogs needed to go potty and were let outside yesterday morning. It was raining heavily and the temperature was dropping like a rock. It was 40° F and this heavy rain was soon to turn into S-N-O-W! The dogs quickly did what they needed to do and came back inside on the breezeway. It is like an enclosed porch connecting the garage to the home. We have some not-so-expensive carpeting there so the dogs will track less wet and mud inside the house. Before going inside I towel dried them and they went inside. Huh? What was that sound? One of the birds? Does the Blue Jay have something new to say? There is was again. A high pitched squeak. I quickly looked to see if the doves had a chick they had not told us about. Nope. No baby chick. Again. A few squeaks and the sound of frantic scratching led me to the area by the mail slot. There they were! An adult mouse and a youngster were trapped in the mail slot. As they made their way inside their tails were caught by the door flap to the slop. Awwwwwww! I'm happy to report their tails are not broken but the Mama mouse has a bruise on her tail. (Good thing they didn't have feathers on them, ehh, but that was another story. LOL!) We can't toss them back outside now. It's cold and it's raining! What kind of hospitality is that? They were placed in a 20 gal. aquarium with pine shavings, a half coconut that's hollowed out and is their new bedroom, a few bowls of seeds, fruits and water. There's also a little lattice ball with a bell that's sold as a cat toy. So we had two more guests for this Thanksgiving Day. We're not sure how long they will be our guests. Perhaps we can convince Mike's brother and his family to adopt them and take the mice back to THEIR home! We all have our doubts about that. Only thing I can add is the ultrasonic rodent repellents that are supposed to emit a sound that deters rodents when plugged in doesn't work. Our new guests are proof.

I'd love to have seen that C3D. ;D I have a couple of pics that I must post sometime soon of a tiny mouse that somehow made it's way here! It was caught and let go a ways down the lane. It probably found it's way back though!
