A couple of people have expressed an interest in coming and having a look round the garden i look after at work.
I have suggested a day in May....maybe one sunday and i was just wondering how many people would be interested in coming to Brighton for a day out.
I would show you around the rock garden and then onto Preston park opposite which houses some spectacular trees including some stunning old Elms and a gorgeous sunken rose garden. I'd then take you to the Victorian walled garden which is about 200 yards from my garden and then on to our nursery for a look round and the opportunity to buy plants.
I will speak to my manager to arrange parking etc in the park and there will be refreshments available in the cafe if needed.
I know it's a bit early but you know how long it takes to organise these things....partners and kids are welcome too !!!
Let me know....i'll probably do it even if there's only one or two of you interested.
Andy

What a lovely idea Andy If I was closer I would have loved to have come I'm a bit too far a way I'm afraid I'm sure you'll have some that will jump at the chance. It does look fab were you work I have to say, and a personal guided tour round and next door too sounds great.

Oooh, I might be up for that Andy! ;D We aren't that far away, and the inlaws are in Worthing, so maybe I can leave the OH and children there and escape for a bit! It is possible we are going camping near the end of May though, but I'll watch this space.

I would be interested depending on what date was chosen. I'd have to arrange to spend the W/E with my sister in Croydon (could she come too?) and I'm already committed to taking my Mum over to Rellys in Telford sometime in May (date to be decided). Also 5/5 is OH's birthday and, although he puts up with me going away he may draw the line at that. (Don't invite him too BTW as, alas, he is not interested in gardening!) Hope all that makes sense!

Forgot to say that it's my wedding anniversary in May (20th) so if that date could be avoided, all the better !

Sounds a great idea Andy. I don't drive myself but depending on the date I could probably persuade OH to drive me. He cycles to Brighton every year with the Veteran Cycle Club. He may well try and cajole me into taking our tandem! ;D Seriously I would love to come, by train if necessary. Julia

It's a great idea. I'd love to see the gardens and meet up with everyone but it's a bit too far for me Andy to comfortably manage in a weekend. Thanks for the invite.

Chuckles!! How could you!! Are you inferring thay we might abuse this generous offer by trying to steal cuttings? I'm sure that thought was very far from all our minds!! Of course Andy could avert this risk by having some already potted up to give away to us!! ;D ;D

Let me just add that you don't have to wait until May if you want to come and be shown around...there's still lots of nice stuff about in winter.
If you want a look round, just give me a day or two's notice by pm and i'll let you know if i'm going to be there.
