hello L.L. they are definately hellibores i was potting some up yesterday. nothing like plants for free, specially when you consider the price og them in the garden centres

My Hellebore seed freely and I often see little seedlings in the garden - how come though I never get more plants in the garden.
For some reason they all die off.

my plants don't seem to increase either ,that's why i've resorted to potting them up. maybe the slugs have got to them, they don't seem to bother with the mature hellibores though. If you grow from seed you could end up with new colours, it all adds to the interest, I was told by a hellibore grower that it is important that the seed is as fresh as possible

I have no idea what they will come out as - they were under a green Hellebore but the leaves look different - more like the leaves on the orientalis - I have now planted them out and so far the slugs have left them alone ( wish I could say the same for everything else ..) LLx

Damm and Buggle I missed my one seed head and it has popped and dropped it seeds Forgot about it with all this rain we've had.
