I'm going to plant up sections of the border at the front entrance to our road, its just rough grass at the moment. A new path is going to be laid so I won't be doing it until autumn/winter. I need your help in what plants to grow, they need to give year round interest in most of them and not so tall that motorists can't see the child walking along the path if need be. Also cheap, I'm not being funded. At the moment I've thought of Irises, Alchemilla Mollis and the tall white shasta daisy, I forget its real name., We've already got some shade lovers the other side but the side I'm doing to balance it is in the sun. I should imagine the soil is clay same as mine and the weeds are growing well so quite fertile and alkaline. All help gratefully received, thanks .I will get around to posting some pics of the entrance, if it ever stops raining long enough. Val.
