This is one for Rosefriend - I think you bought this hollyhock some time ago, and said it was perennial and slug-resistant? How has it been doing? The picture you posted looked lovely, and I was thinking of trying it for next year ... cheers ...

Hi CC - yes I have Parkrondell and Parkallee and I think that they are both fantastic. ParkrondellParkalleeThere is a third one called Parkfrieden which I am trying to get - this is a google pic. All three are Alcea Hybrids - Perennial Hollyhocks. I am so happy that my Nursery/GC suggested these. NO slugs and no rust or fungus diseases - the leaves are all A1 and after all the rain that we have had I find that amazing. Now then CC I will not say that they are Slug resistant as they were sold to me as Rust and Fungus resistant BUT the slugs haven't munched them and I think that is a good sign. RF

Thanks, RF ... Parkallee in particular looks luscious. But I've been googling and they don't seem to be available here, except for a couple of UK GCs/nurseries, nor do the main seed companies stock the seed . In fact, as far as I can see seed is not even available in Germany - if it was I could have bought some when I go to Munich in December. Oh well, keep searching ... thanks, RF ... cheers ...

Well the names are German but I thought that they would be called something else in the UK as is so often the case.
There are no seeds and is there are, they don't grow true to form of course. I could try taking a cutting for you - I am not sure how successful I would be but I could try.
The only other thing is that if you are in Munich in December, I could ask my GC who has contacts all over the world, if he can find one "down south" that you could take back with you in a small pot. You will just have to PM me exactly where you are going.

No, it's called 'Parkallee' or 'Park Allee' in English as well. Many thanks for the cutting offer, but I would n't want to put you to that trouble - however, I will be PMing you re. Munich ... thanks and cheers ...
