I've sowed Cornflower Polka Dot, Aquilegea which is ment to be Pretty Bonnets Mix but when I opened the packet it said MCKanna Giants so I'm not sure what I'll get, and a pk of Geranium Pratense Purple Haze along with Salvia Patens Cambridge Blue.
The Pansies Blackjack have been pricked out and given their own pots but the rocket got greenfly and was destroyed.

Unfortunately the saved Cornflower seed I sowed failed to germinate Barbara, I think I've only gotten 1 or 2 seedlings, hopefully some of the ones that have blown about the flower bed at the plot will germinate. I think I've some in a packet that I can sow anyhow. I need to go through my pks and see what needs sowing now, I know there are plenty of things that benifit from autumn sowing.

I have roots developing on the paeonia Tenuifolia, cambassedesii, mascula mascula & the mixed seeds all sown back in January. Today I have sown herbaceous types Paeonia peregrina x15 (sowed some before but the mice ate them!), Paeonia Emodi x4. Also shrub types Peaonia delavayi x10 & p.d. angustiloba x6.

I've sown some sweet pea into pots, I normally do them in spring but I'm trying them now because Monty did his, I've saved some for a spring sowing in case they fail, I've sown red aquilegia straight into the beds and a hand full of poppy seeds too.
All the lupins I sowed are up, all I have to do now is keep the snails away from them. I don't know if bringing them in would work.

I sowed Dierama blood drops (10 seeds) and codonopsis lanceolata (12 seeds) on the 2nd of October, in deep pots, two thirds filled with mpc and seed compost on the tops third. The plan being that they can stay in the pots until spring if they germinate. Today I have spotted 4 dierama and 1 codonopsis are poking their heads up - I do love growing stuff from seed

I now have 9 dierama out of the 10 sown. Quite good germination on those. Still only 2 codonopsis though.
Today I have sown some akebia quinata seeds from a pod which had fallen off on the soil. I've used ericaceous compost for them and brought them indoors as they supposedly need 15c to germinate and they won't get that outside now. I've also sown some delphinium nudicaule as they are supposed to do better sown fresh and need cold. I have popped some eucomis bicolor seeds I've harvested in a pot outside too.

Seed order arrived this morning from Plant World Seeds, so I have sown albuca spiralis, agapanthus blue tips, acis autumnalis and pancratium maritimum this afternoon. According to the seed packets and online instructions all were suitable for cold stratification so would be OK in one of the growhouses. However, further research suggest that the last one will not survive in freezing temperatures, and I have my doubts about the first two! I've brought the pacratium pot in, and will probably do the same with the albuca and agapathus tomorrow.

I spotted one of the helleborus Black Beauty has germinated today, and one of the H. Plantworld doubles. Both were sown on 24/2/2017!

My research paid off on my pancratium maritimum, I have four shoots sticking out of the gravel today I might email the suppliers and let them know their sowing instructions were wrong.

I found seeds on two tree peonies today, 3 on the yellow flowering one and the 4 on the white/pink one. I've sown them into two largish pots and left them out to chill

Today I've sown roscoea cautleyoides and some roscoea species mixed in ericaceous compost, they are in one of the growhouses, hope it is cold enough for them. Also sown helleborus argutifolius Pacific Frost, dodecatheon meadia album and paeonia vetchii, they are outside to freeze. Iris japonica, iris ensata sensation and cup winners sown in ericaceous compost and indoors for 30 days, if no sign of germination by new year they will go outside for 60 days.

Early this year I sowed seeds from my hellebore, fresh from the plants and they are coming up now. Yikes the poor little seedlings have a load of snow on which will keep them warm but isn't nature special? I hope they are not flattened but suppose this is what nature normally does. I am not sowing onions this year as I will be away and can't look after them. I suppose some of you will go boxing day mad though

Despite being frozen solid for days the seeds of the delphinium nudicaule I sowed at the end of October have germinated and look to be surviving this arctic weather just fine. The hellebore seedlings are also looking OK, they are still in ice blocks!

Hi Tig that makes two of us eager to see if seedlings can get through ice and snow. Mind you nature is tougher than we think.

My hellebore seedlings looked really sick last week with their little pots frozen solid, but they appear to have survived It's a long wait for peony seeds to germinate as they need two periods of cold stratification. I knew that they had formed a root last year and was surprised, and delighted today to spot two shoots from the paeonia mascula subsp mascula tray I've sown 10 seeds of calochortus catlinae and approx 18 seeds of corydalis solida George Baker today, both are outside as they are supposed to need some cold to get them to germinate.

I've had a sort out in my seed box and have found loads that are dated 2012/13.....going to give them a go this week.... Just wondered if I can plant morning glory with sweet peas? I have never had a lot of luck with either of these but want to stick them out the front of the house where although being north facing it does get quite a bit of sun...there's not much room so thought a big pot with a medium sized obelisk for them to climb up....

Yes they will Missredhead so long as you add lots of slow release food to the container and give them a few feeds fortnightly with tomato food or something similar in the summer.
