Eeek - germination in the codonopsis baggies! So far grey-wilsonii, pilosula, bhutanica and tangshen are showing bits of green! I won't have enough pots for them all

That was quick Tig. My Dahlia Bishops Children that I sowed on 5th are starting to germinate.

Considering that the instructions for sowing would have led me to believe that they require a period of cold to break their dormancy I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they've germinated LG. I shall be sending a missive to the seed supplier to let them know that they do not need cold! No wonder people fail to get stuff to germinate when the info is wrong.

Well yes, that's a good point Tig. It would certainly put people off.

The codonopsis lanceolata have started to germinate so I've pricked out the biggest into a 4" square pot, also I can see signs of germination in the bag of tacca nivea I sowed on 11/1/2019 The clematis intregifolia seeds had gone a bit manky looking, signs of mould, so I've cleaned them and put them on new paper in a fresh bag. Not looking hopeful with those though.

I have potted up one of the tacca nivea seeds this morning, it had a decent root. The others are plump but haven't thrown out a root yet.

I've been soaking some dierama Slieve Donard hybrids for 24 hours so I've sown them into one big pot today. T & M so probably not fresh seeds and may not germinate.

I've sprinkled some Early Flowering Mix into some cells. If they grow well they'll go to a flower bed at the plot.

I sowed some "Pots of Gold" Marigold yesterday, they grow to about 60cm They produce single flowers, are bushy and usually produce lots of flowers, we've grown them before. Are the girls Marigold in a propagator Missredhead?

They're in pots in a tray with just a lid on them Ladygardener..it's odd though as one tray are doing really well but the other tray havent germinated, same pack of seeds too...I'll leave them til tomorrow and if there's still nothing I'll get another pack of seeds and sow again..they won't know 😁

Not sure what to do about seed sowing as we go away on 31st March and that means leaving Nathan in charge of any seedlings Last weekend I got the seeds out and put them away and yesterday I got the seeds out and today I think I will put them away! April 11th is still enough time isn't it? Missy, do you want some more marigold seeds, I've ended up with 2 packets!

Yes it really is plenty of time for most things Jasmine, they'll likely come on quicker then anyhow with better light levels and fingers crossed more warmth. Has anyone ever grown Brugmansia Suaveolens? I bought some seeds and am going to give it a go and would be grateful of any tips.

That's what I thought Ladygardener, I am just going to do a couple of seeds that say February to April sowing, the rest all say you can download outside in April so I might do a bit of scattering when we get back! Sorry, can't help with the brugmansia seeds.

Sowed some Cerinthe and Thunbergia African Sunset. There weren't many seeds in each packet so Nathan won't have much to take care of over the Easter holiday if they grow!

Thank you Jasmine I'd love some more marigold seeds, I went to Wilko's today but they didn't have any so I bought some sweet pea seeds instead 😁

A lovely thought LG, but they don't survive for me and space is already a bit tight, I've not sown my toms, cucs, courgettes and sweetcorn yet or the twenty odd packets of summer seeds I've already bought Will watch with interest how you get on with them though.

No problem Tig. I'm hoping that if they grow for me I can grow them out back or even the polytunnel at the plot.
