Thanks WT, I don't think it has spread anywhere - it has been growing for quite a while in the same spot, and I have one in the front garden too! I had a google for Mahonia repens and it grows about 1' tall, this one is about 2'? PJ no sign of Queen of the Night yet then? Tig, not a single Queen of the Night. All the yellowy cream ones were supposed to be them, but I have planted some lovely purple ones which are soon to open if they don't get blown down by the wind! BTW tomorrow I am going to a farm that stocks reclaimed and secondhand birdbaths. Here is hoping I find one I like. I don't like them to be too ornate. PJ

Thanks for the nominations folks. I'm pleased to say the little Viola no longer has it's white blanket. Lovely pics Plocket, those Clem buds, lovely. Are they macropetela or alpina? (or something else!)

(or something else!) It's actually an atragene called Constance, but it also referred to as an alpina. It's going to be in flower very soon but I can't yet tell which is going to be first out of Constance, Wesselton or Purity
