Massive lesson learnt about two weeks ago - just reporting this now because we were away for a while. Just because something looks dead - it ain't necessarily so. I was convinced my Campanula Lactiflora had bit the dust, got the spade and started digging it up - only to see loads of fat green shoots beneath the surface of the soil. Re-planted it very carefully with fresh compost, seaweed fertiliser and a prayer - and now its making huge growth. I made the same mistake last year with a dahlia ... cheers ...

Don't bother with buying fairly expensive pot feet (£2 ish for three), buy a sack of paddle stones instead (£5 ish). They still raise the pot enough for drainage and you get lots and lots of 'threes' for pennies!

That's a lesson I should have learned a long time ago. But I'm still digging things up and replanting like that. Just no patience

They're flat MRH and usually the same thickness. Slate ones are quite common. Think anti cobbles!!! ;D

Right...and would I get these in B&Q or do I have to go to the garden centre...(prefer garden centre but always spend far too much money on those visits)

Most garden centres and DIY's sell them in plastic bags with the gravel and decorative stones. That's all they are really. ;D
