Fankyew - but I've just had a ganders and it's looking very unlikely Oh no Shrub I'd been keeping quiet about my 4 that are doing really well too. They are between 4 and 6 inches across now this is the best one. I'm trying to leave them just a bit longer. They are the first I've ever got this far, the variety is Cool if anyone else has probs growing others these maybe worth a try. You watch, now I've shown one they will be gone in the Morning

phooey, some of my cauli's are going a little yellowy. I have wrapped some leaves back across the top will this help or have they had it?
They are a lot smaller than the other ones so they might not make it yet anyway but would like to salvage them if I can!

Oh dear JD don't leave them too long, a day to long and they will go over. Of the 4 I grew I only managed to eat 2 they go over and open up sooooo quickly and mine got nibbled at.

Thanks Chuckles
I'd not picked them as they were tiny - only about 5" across. Will pick one of the bigger ones later when I go to get my mum a cabbage.
Hope they taste nice after all this!!

Oh dear Tig not a pretty site I've not had much luck with Cauli, just managed the 2 this year, and last year well we won't go back there My 2 sucesses where with a variety called Cool and I had good intentions of sowing a few more a while back to see how they went. Unfortunately I have misplaced the seeds, gawd knows where I've put them, not in the box with all the others Not sure what the trick is to get them to grow well

Next year I will cover them with a fleece box Chuckles, and scatter some organic S & S pellets around them - I will try again because I think they would have been OK apart from the scavenging hourds attacking from every direction x Tig

I have only managed to get 2 which are in the freezer, maybe its the All Year Round seeds? I have tried them for the last 2 years and they are hopeless on my patch, think I will try another variety next year but which one OH asked why I keep trying to grow them, because I love them and will not or be defeated. Maybe I will look out for the ones that Chuckles grew.

Pick it Tig and enjoy it while you can, it certainly looks ready The trouble I've found with growing cauli's is that they all come at once

Having found my 'brassica tent' invaded by cabbage whites today (they crawled through the net, then refused to leave!) it may be best picked. I staggered sowing Jean, but as I only grow a few of everything that is a possible for me and my little plots, but not practical for those who have loads of space . I have covered the whole thing with fleece now, but having had a shower I note that the rain is sitting in puddles and didn't go through it, so a rethink is required x Tig

I have still got half of a cauli in the fridge (this one sort of snook up on me ;D) I will pick it as soon as we have eaten the supermarket bought one, hope I get to it before any caterpillars, just spotted the leaf damage alongside it ) If it is clean and whole, I may save a photo for Best in Show, OK I know, it is only a mere cauli, but for me it is the equivalent of finding a lost treasure ship x Tig
