No I only got strong white bread flour because it was my first attempt.
When that's gone I might get some wholemeal.

Actually...I've got a loaf in the oven now...ran out of bread so thought I'd make one. ;D
Going shopping tomorrow so I might get some wholemeal flour and try that next.

my mum use to make bread, with flour from the local wholefood co-operative. cooked in an aga. mmmmh. (hippy mum) my father in law, sold his house in london, after apartheit fell, was allowed back to south africa, (he was in political exile for 26yrs), and opened a bakery in soweto, gave up in the end, became too dangerous  ,held-up at gun point, etc.) when we're not eating baguette, there's corn bread, nut bread, sunflower, bread with cheese and bacon in it, honey & herb bread. the best basic pre-made flour i've bought is still lidl flour bread, it's a about £1 a packet. apart from channel no5, lilacs, wysteria, an english rose, fresh mint, & coffee, bread is definately in the top 10 lists of heady scents. anyone got a bread making machine ? wondered is it worth it ? ;D |

I did have one but gave it away...making by hand is sooo much better.
There was a thread on breadmaking machines somewhere...will go have a look.

Can't help it....I love it.
Haven't bought a loaf since starting to make it.
The wholemeal is yummy, better than the white, it has more flavour. I'll use the rest of the white flour for rolls but will definitely make the wholemeal again. Might try granary next. ;D
