I removed the cobbles last autumn - looks better without them IMO.

Better without the cobbles Rita, are you filling the bed with more plants to camouflage the edges?

Much better Rita and more space for some nice small plants on the edge to make the fish feel more safe. l hope it does not freeze all over so the fish are ok. Do you have some protective for them? My neighbours do nothing and since things have been pretty bad I just hope their fish made it.

love those sleepers Rita and I agree it looks better without the stones. Hope your little fish are surviving this cold snap.

Been that wrapped up in my pond thread I hadn't noticed the new pic you'd posted. It's looking really well established for such a new pond Rita and I see you have fish ;D thought you might just have to get a few ;D I quite liked the stones but would have had the whole area covered with all different sizes and plants dotted in them. I like it without them though

Better without the cobbles Rita, are you filling the bed with more plants to camouflage the edges? x Tig Yes Tig. My fish have survived the winter the pond had some very thick ice covering too for about 2 weeks or more - That's an ice preventer floating on the pond, the water in the centre won't freeze - They don't cost much either, just £8.80 from Water Gardening Direct - www.watergardeningdirect.com/acatalog/Other_Accessories.htmlWon't be adding a filter Maggy getting electrics to the pond would cost quite a lot, but might consider adding one when we can afford to have pay someone to do get a power supply to that part of the garden.

What small people in your pond and you have them eaten? ;D Good to see that contraption worked and your fish got through.

LOL - I didn't eat any at all, I let the fish do that! The contraption works very well.
