I am risking leaving my nicotiana and bergamot outside tonight, and the pomegranate and polyanthus seedlings. They have been in the cold frame for about a week so fingers crossed they will be OK. x Tig

Its been a cold spring and looking at how some of the trees have been damaged by the cold and winds, I'd hang on to your seedlings for another couple of weeks if you can. Early May can still be a bit dodgy

The cosmos and poppies and stock are all settling into the borders nicely. Still have more to do. It's such a busy time ;D

I left my toms out yesterday and when I heard the news I dived out and brought them back in, it was supposed to go down to 4deg C. I am up early and it is still 8 deg - I could have left them out. Whether they like it or not they are getting planted tomorrow and I have a new 10 metre piece of fleece ready in case.
My hollyhocks are still only about 20cms but they are going out as well and my peppers/chillies as well. Plus anything I can plant in a pot. I have loads of Calla which I potted up ages ago, probably for the last time as my OH hates them - he calls them the cemetery flowers, but they are going in somewhere next week as well.

I love Calla lillies, have never grown them 'tho. I plucked a red beetle of my oriental lilly yesterday, drated thing . You've loads to keep you busy RF. I too left out some of my tomatoes last night when I repotted them. They're in huge tubs and no way would I have room to bring them inside. I put them behind the glass windowframe I rescued from the skip and they looked grand this morning. I think I'll actually take the glass away during the daytime today.

Well i planted out my cosmos and swan river daisys today.I think the only thing i have to worry about is the slugs and snails. I have put some organic pellets down they dont seen to have worked very well round my hostas.

Hostas are notorious s&s food snowowl it's a running battle. Everyone is so busy planting out just now it's great is'nt it. Any cosmos I've planted are thriving and I must get the rest planted out this weekend. I'll be planting out the Dahalia too they've been outside in their pots quite long enough now and are really thriving. Most of my tomato plants are outside and the peppers went out today.
