Thought I would put this on here, so if you dislike spiders you won't have looked ;D Carefully lifting some little seedlings when this 'monster' appeared!! OK it wasn't massive, but it was big enough, and rather quick ... I managed to get it airborne and it is now somewhere in the neighbours garden ;D x Tig

Nasty looking? It is very pretty and the soft hairs on its back suggest that one can stroke it. But not knowing what it is and realizing that poisonous spiders do excist, don't try. Oh in case your neighbours begin to act strange at least now you know what caused it ;D

Nice spider ;D a friend told me last week that down south they have found Black Widows living in the wild, dont know if I would be brave and tackle one of those, I'm OK with Tarantula's as I used to work with them but normal house spider make me jump sometimes.

As it is that time of year again when they are everywhere (inside and out) I thought we might manage to capture a few on camera (even if we don't like them that much) Having lunch .... x Tig

Ah yes I was expecting this thread to reappear. I normally do when I walk in the garden ending up with one of those sticking to my face. What is it with spiders that they have to go and make webs at eye level. My eye level that is. OH walks straight through and wonders where the spider on his chest came from I do like them though and yes I still stroke them if I see fit. Gives the poor things a mighty jolt but sometimes one just sits still and lets me ;D

I am not as scared as I used to be as I tell myself a story That is Daddy spider on his way home to Mummy after a day on the web I marvel at the symmetry of their webs - I feel awful when I have to cut thru one - I do this with a large stick as to get them on my face is not good
