Nothing wrong with being a softie. It must be so hard to put your heart and soul into something, believing it is wonderful, only to be disappointed. I felt sad for the Jamaican women too, no gold yet. Though when I saw it, although the plants were undeniably magnificent, I thought that they needed a wee hand with the staging of them. Fingers crossed for next year.

Oh Slugger I'm so envious of your visit! I WILL go one day Can't wait to see your piccies. I agree that we've seen it all before from Dairmuid and couldn't bear the Venetian garden. Ok so it might have been inspired by Venice but I didn't see a rhododendron on top of a pillar when I was there, and it was just too clean for Venice, which has a lovely aged look. I think the swirly path/waterlily pool garden is my favorite but haven't done the tours on the website yet so will have to have a proper look.

The path/waterlily feature was my favourite too.

I watched Carol Klein's tour last night on the interactive channel and it was the most interesting so far. No celebs just a good old description of individual plants. I hope I can watch it again so I can get some ideas for my garden. Plenty of alpine plants and beautiful tulips. As it was one o'clock in the morning I didn't catch the names of the plants but she was inspiring. Much more exciting than seeing some of the impractical show gardens.
