Moving on from the hard boiled egg problem, have you noticed that eggs have been resized? The large eggs don't look like large eggs, more like medium sized. I recently bought some locally sourced large eggs from a supermarket. They were LARGE, all with double yolks.

I was always told to add vinegar to the water but I can't remember why. Soften the shells maybe?
But I can't boil an egg either so don't listen to me ;D

Egg sizes by law have not changed & they are as follows VL or XL >73g L 63-73g M 53 -63g S

Also be aware that there is a new marketing term 'eggs of different sizes' with a minimum net weight per pack (that weight must be printed on the pack).
I suggest if you discover eggs which are under weight that you contact your local EHO/trading standards officer or your local government Animal Health Egg Marketing Inspector.
