Well I must a admit its been nice not to have to water the pots every day. Most of the garden has done well really considering all the rain. Although the butternut squash are looking a bit sad, they need some sunshine, and the roses seem to fade very quickly, our slug population has reached mammoth proportions. Hopefully our new froglets will be having some of them for dinner. ff

Worst for me has to be the tomatoes, half of which were badly affected by blight. Curiously the ones in the small GH don't seem to have got it so bad, but yields are much lower than usual.
Best has to be the runner and French beans which are still cropping heavily. This is the best crop of beans we have had in fifteen years and mercifully the sparrows seem to have left the flowers alone this year even though I have grown the same - white flowered - varieties as usual.
