I couldn't see a single berry on the huge bank of sloes down by the river last week! And although there are loads of blackberries about they all look quite small........but the thornless one I planted in the veggie garden last year and trained along the fence is full of gorgeous luscious and large berries last....mmmm blackberry and apple crumbles, here we go! The apple trees are groaning with the weight...I gotta use them........

I collected some blackberries yesterday, helped by OH and the dog, and made a blackberry and apple crumble. First crumble I've made for many years and it was not half bad, though I say it myself

Just to let you all know, the sloe gin & the sloe & blackberry gin are now happily "cooking" in a couple of jars in one of the kitchen cupboards. Roll on 3 months......!!!
