Ooh--I am thrilled to bits and must share my news--I have just received a telephone call from the Judges of the "Garden-in Bloom Competion"(for our small town.) inviting me to the presentation of prizes. Apparently I have been awarded 3rd Prize for my Front border---
I am so pleased and a little tearful because somehow I didn't expect it.
--now that has given me encouragement for next year!

Yes I will do--only hope it is fine because if not the presentation will be held in the Church Hall--Apparently the 1st prize was won for an established garden that has won many competions! If I am asked (by Judges or anyone who is interested) then GWD Board will be mentioned as my 'mentors' for inspiration and encouragement when I felt it just wasn't worth carrying on with gardening. On the same sort of note my garden has been chosen as one of the top 12 in the Shoot Garden Awards. It is a lovely feeling to have ones efforts rewarded in this way.

I must say Very Many Thanks to all of you (my friends) on here who have sent their good Wishes. It has been with your encouragement, when I felt despair, that has helped me with this Postage Stamp Garden!! ;D
Congratulations Owdboggy-- your garden looks terrific and has received a vote from me!
Susie--I will have to get out my 'Posh' Dress or just take my battered Spade with me--if they are taking photographs!!
