Thanks for the advice on the bug yes it must be one but it is soooo small. I would spray but I interplant at MssK and have veg growing next to it and dont really want to spray against something I don't know. Even though iceland lettuce and onions and peas are nibbled too. I noticed those big red spider mite thingies I know they also eat bugs so maybe they will get to work soon. I got myself a greenguide to nasties. When I find the culprit in there I'll let you know.

Well against all the odds my sp tops developed roots and today I've planted them in the garden. Now they're not the best looking sp in the world but at least they're growing. I'm hoping they'll romp away now that they're in the ground. It will be very interesting to see if they grow strong and flower. I'll keep you posted.

After getting 9 sweet pea flowers last year, I think that this year it could be a few more.....they are coming along very well and the ones in the garden are showing signs of wanting to grow as well. RF

They are looking good and strong - after a while they do tend to do "their own thing", don't they..

Nice LG. Mine have suddenly shot up this week. Rekon they should start flowering in a week especially as it's forecast to be warm this weekend.

flowers already. I've planted mine out today in 4's and all in large pots that have other stuff in that they can climb up, like Clems and Jasmine. Oh well, mine will hopefully be flowering long after everyone elses ;D

Everyone's sweet peas seem to be doing very well but unfortunately I cannot say the same for my own. I suspect that this is due to the fact that 'due to circumstances beyond my control' they didn't make it to the individual pot stage and instead went from seed tray to garden. Finally after some frantic watering and feeding over recent weeks a good proportion have begun to throw up strong shoots so it looks as though I may get away with it after all. Then again, ordinarily I would have expected to be picking by them now.

My sweet peas are doing really well this year, all sown in October last year. I tried taking some pictures this afternoon and it was so bright and sunny they looked all washed out. I took some photos with a flash later on this evening and this is my best shot.
