Just got back from my trip up country and I have millions of sweet peas in flower - must pick them quickly or they'll be over before they've hardly started!!!

Great Auricula what a lovely homecoming. Picking them will encourage others to bloom too.

They are lovely LG I picked my first small bunch today and put them in the kitchen window. I have smiled everytime I've walked through the back door, they have scented the room with sunshine x Tig

Thanks FB, I agree it's a real pity they only last a couple of days when picked but they're worth it.

Thanks LG, it's actually Dot.Com from Eagle SP's, I'm only growing their seeds this year as I was so impressed with the Lisa Marie I grew last year it was so much better than the GC bought seed. I 'm sure all the other specialist growers are equally as good.

What a beauty Mowhay, love the delicate colours! All mine so far are from seed saved last year, and it appears I only saved seeds from pink and red ones x Tig

Thanks Tig.
Your post raised a question in my head ( bored with sitting in my office doing stupid work ) about the colour of your SP's. If a rippled one is pollinated by a solid blue one, or vice versa ..... what colour are the babies? Is the more solidly coloured one more dominant genetically?
Or do they all turn out pink or red ;D

Do we have any experts Tig? Not really been here long enough to be familiar with people's specialities?
Snap, my kids / grandkids aren't ginger either ......... but there again my parents are dark .... my grandma was ginger?

I have just picked a few sweet peas too. I don't like to as I like to see them growing in the garden, but noticed that some of them were going to seed. Here a few pics.

PJ they're beautiful and I'm sure the scent is wonderful. I always think that's one of the good things about sweetpea that the more you pick them the more they bloom. ;D
